There’s always the practice squad.

Yes, sir. At least if the player is on the regular roster to begin with.

Yes.

I think the practice squads are assembled Monday, after cuts are digested, but I could be wrong.

This link on practice squad rules is actually not much help :)

The only mildly surprsing cuts so far are Mallett and Arrington. That followed form though, most people thought Buckley was in the lead.

Norwood

NFL not for long

We NEED at least ONE Penn Stater on the team...

Just saying. He doesn’t have to be good or anything.

by IggleGreen on Sep 3, 2010 5:11 PM EDT up reply actions

Boooo…

Wake Forest’s own…a longshot for sure but still sad to see him go.

by JoshuaR on Sep 3, 2010 3:18 PM EDT reply actions

Jorrick Calvin

He’s beaten Pope and Pender. He’s still got a shot to make the roster.

In a perfect world, (God Damnit)Hanson gets cut, and he becomes our #5 CB

by JpH89 on Sep 3, 2010 3:22 PM EDT up reply actions

I liked what I saw out of him last night

But he’ll have an extremely difficult time beating out Trevard Lindley and Dimitri Patterson. His only hope is if the Eagles give up on Joselio Hanson (doubtful) or if they somehow manage to squeeze 6 CBs onto the roster. I doubt he’ll make it to our practice squad before someone else picks him up, especially with those return skills.

by Bob_Q on Sep 3, 2010 3:24 PM EDT up reply actions

Lindley looks so good. I kinda hope he can be our #3, and Patterson our #4

I agree. It is nice when you have a guy who can do both KR and PR well and they are at the bottom of the depth chart for their position.

by captain nodar on Sep 3, 2010 3:27 PM EDT up reply actions

Yup

That has to be a factor.

Bob, you think no chance Jorrick gets through to the PS, huh?

I doubt it

He’s got a fair amount of potential and can help out immediately on special teams. That’s too good of a value for 32 teams to pass on.

by Bob_Q on Sep 3, 2010 3:33 PM EDT up reply actions

Hanson would be a surprise

But the Eagles are good for surprising us with their roster choices and they may decide that Hanson doesn’t provide enough marginal value over Patterson for the money he makes. I have to imagine that Lindley is a lock.

jordan Raanan(who?) of CSN Philly said that Clayton is lucky that to make the cut because he was a 4th rounder. I dont know what he saw, but I thought he was very good on D and ST all camp/preseason. He, IMO, is better then Gaither and Fokou.

Forget about making the team – I think he’ll contribute in some role this season. He has stood out to me,

agreed

If I’m Fat Andy, Hes my #1 sub on LB, and one of my top ST players as a whole.

I would say the most surprising o the ones so far

Has to be mallet I thought it would have been a semi though choice

Let's get it Birds.

by homestar2281 on Sep 3, 2010 3:27 PM EDT via mobile reply actions

agree

I’d bet they spent a lot of time discussing but if Buckley was in the lead going in (and he is an ST beast) then he might not have been passed. Mallett will make the PS if not another team’s roster. (and guys like Willie Parker are going to be ahead of him on the ‘other team’s roster’ list)

RB seems to be settled. Looks like no decision on Hall or Macho yet, for whatever that’s worth.

Nope.

Don't

we take a fairly rough cap hit if we cut Hanson?

Nope.

I don’t think that’s an issue in an uncapped season.

Rob Myers, another one of last year’s “3rd TEs du jour”, got cut by the Pats.

I put a dollar in a change machine. Nothing changed.
