errrrh?

The lead story ahead of the Giants Pats game was Jets “b-teamers” against the Eagles, stated as-though Reid used his starters while Ryan used the 2nd string, so its not unexpected that our starters would force fumbles against their scrubs… nice job reporting there Mr Kim… how bout next time you check that both teams are playing their 2s.

Anyway, all this complaining, I’m starting to sound like Jacobs.

except

Santonio Holmes is the reason they won & he is a starter that played the whole game bc he’s on a 4 game suspension

In February 2009, Jacobs signed a four-year, $25 million extension with the Giants, with $13 million in guaranteed money.

Poor backstabbed Brandon Jacobs.

I guess the New York Giants...

…is entirely populated with whiny, completely overrated pussies now. Shawn Andrews used to be mediocre (but has always been a whiny bitch) and Brandon Jacobs used to be good (but is now just a whiny bitch). Good luck, ladies.

Don’t forget Osi Umenyiora.

by JimmyK on Sep 3, 2010 11:18 AM EDT up reply actions

Jimmy, the "Osi" is silent (and implied) when talking about whiny Giants.

Kinda like the “Wes Welker” rule when talking about white players: i.e: “Bobby Orr is scrappy on the boards. He reminds me of Wes Welker.” Or “Nolan Ryan has a mean fastball. He reminds me of Wes Welker.”

Or the tacit “Reggie Brown” throw-in when discussing theoretical Eagles trades: i.e.: “Let’s trade next year’s second rounder (and Reggie Brown) for Boldin” You just don’t pronounce the “Reggie Brown” in that sentence.

On an unrelated Giants note
Readers of @Jeff_McLane might be interested in the fact that Shawn Andrews is having an impressive game up the turnpike for the Giants

The view at BBV

is that he will be the starting LG soon and certainly by the time we come to the Linc.

That will add another twist to that matchup.

I don't think you guys should get your hopes too high yet

Read this about his departure from the Eagles, its a great read from a great writer: Link.

A lineman without heart doesn’t last long. I will use an old analogy from JimmyK. Every year I used to get excited about school starting, and I would buy a shiny new notebook and new pens and make sure to get to class on time and listen. Two weeks in, class is out of my head and I’m taking bong hits in my friends dorm all day.

So I would just turn down the expectations until progress and consistency is maintained for a while.

Haha, nice – Forgot about that one.

I agree

it is still early days. However, he appears to be in football shape and played well yesterday on a couple of weeks practice.

But and it is a big IF he is now motivated and plays at say 90% of the level he played in 2005 to 2007 he will be one of the best guards in 2010.

If he is not motivated he will not see any playing time and goes at season end.

by G Fan in England on Sep 3, 2010 4:40 PM EDT up reply actions

Please God… I beg of you to let that actually happen.

by JimmyK on Sep 3, 2010 12:07 PM EDT up reply actions

I can't think of anything better for Bunkley and Patterson...

…than if Shawn Andrews were to start at LG for the Giants. Eli Manning would be like a used whore at the frat-house gangbang.

Eagles traded 6th round pick for guard Reggie Wells from Arizona.

Ugh... Jacobs

Finally Osi comes around, admits he was pretty much a whiny d-bag, and sells the idea that this year the Giants defense is a team and not focused on the individual.

Then Jacobs has to whine about being backstabbed like this is the WWE and Triple H is killing his push. Jacobs is seriously ticking me off. He supposedly even muttered it would be too early for a trade. Geez…

by RolloT on Sep 3, 2010 4:42 PM EDT reply actions

eh...

as with pretty much anything that comes out of NY…this is WAY overblown. Player frustrated about not playing at all in a game….I think I’d be pissed if he didn’t say anything. What he said is annoying and yea, good for a laugh.

Who the hell wants a player that doesn’t care if he plays?

And its not like Jacobs has been a rock his career, he’s always hurt. The Giants would be idiots if they trotted Jacobs out there for a bunch of meaningless preseason carries.

Probably would helped themselves if they actually told Jacobs a bit of the plan..but they did now, so w/e.

by FreeBradshaw on Sep 3, 2010 8:53 PM EDT reply actions

I didn't know vaginas could talk. Boy he is a BIG ONE!

Shut up and push the pile forward for first downs and you are the starter. That’s all you were and all you’ll ever be. When you can’t do it anymore, you have to be replaced. Simple as that. Most guys would be cut with no money. Did it read he has a guaranteed contract? What’s the complaint about? Steal your money until the end of your contract and get on with your life! What I like about Jacobs is the Eagles were the first team to start shutting the door on him by the fast pursuit low tackling and gang tackling. Once we put that on tape, teams caught up to this big wuss. It was up to him to adjust his game and take it to another level. That’s the difference between guys who are talented and those who are HOFer’s

I want a championship!
