I was able to watch last weeks games against the Texans and I flipped back and forth during commercials while we the Eagles game was on so I was able to get a decent hold on what the Skins have been bringing.
a) I thought the defense was going to be good this season, they have not been. SURPRISINGLY, DeAngelo Hall, who will probably go against Jackson has been one of their better players in the secondary. Everyone else, not so great, so theres a chance that Maclin could continue his streak of getting in the red zone.
b) Their first round pick was a good one, he's played really well so far, he was hurt this week. Not sure of his status against the Birds, but he is needed.
d) Even WITH a running game, McNabb is the same old McNabb. The Redskins move the ball just fine from 20-20 but McNabb definitely brought the red zone woes with him. In all 3 games, they have settled for FG after FG.
A writer put it perfectly "The Redskins made enough big plays, but not enough small ones." That is the definition of a McNabb led offense. Oh and the third downs? They have a problem with those too.
If we can stop the run and put McNabb in third and long situations, I think this game HEAVILY favors the Eagles especially if their LT doesn't play. Their defense, red zone woes hurt enough and can you think of another team who is better at attacking the qb on third and long? 3-1 would be a really nice start
