I miss Weaver too, he is an all-pro, that speaks for itself, but I thought Schmitt (sp?) did a very nice job when he was in there. he caught a couple of nice passes and is an adequate blocker and he has just a couple of weeks in philly.

A question, did we sign Joique? I only knew we brought him in for a workout but I didn’t know we actually signed him.

And I thought McGlynn was very good, I think that if he keeps it up and keeps getting better we have our new starting C and we dispose of Jackson. nothing against JJ but he is getting up there in age and his injuries won’t help his game.

The Avant things is a little weird but its kinda true with Celek too. I don’t think Vick likes to throw shorter routes (maybe something with him having too much of a bullet) unless they are lofts to the RB. Since these are Celek and Avant’s bread and butter, it looks like they might get the short end of the stick this year. Even with Crumpler he would usually hit him on long post routes. He really does seem to favor Maclin in the Redzone though too. i don’t know how useful Cooper is going to be this year.

those two guys are usually the 3rd/4th reads, and I don’t think Vick is getting to them (I actually don’t think he’s needed to). He looks to DeSean, then Maclin, and then either checks down or runs. The game isn’t slow enough yet for him to work through all the progressions

Cole seems to be a failed experiment as a player. He wasn’t bad at RG last year but seems to have gotten worse at a time when he was needed to get better. Wells was a necessary pickup. I mean what was the alternative, Max Jean-Gilles? No thanks.

Cole is a quality backup, he was a good RG last year, this year he’s been hurt but he needs to get healthy and resume his role as 1st off the bench.

Jason Avant didn’t have a catch – is he getting used less than last season or what is going on?

Avant was out there, he just wasnt targeted.. I think the jags made a big effort to take him out of the game.

Jordan was the team’s leading tackler – he must have done something right.

Slowly but surely he’s getting better at SAM which has been doing dividends to us.

but VIck is clearly more confident in the pocket, and more patient.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Vick himself would admit that the coaching staff taught him to be patient and wait for things to open up before you take off running
