This is my first fanpost, either in a long time or first ever, so excuse my mistakes....
We traded Donavon away to make way for Kevin Kolb. True.
Kevin Kolb got destroyed (physically) by the Green Bay Packers 2 quarters into game 1. True.
Mike Vick steps in and does a pretty good job and almost led us back in game 1. True.
Mike Vick plays very well in game 2 despite a collapse in the defense. True.
Andy Reid benches Kolb in favor of Vick because he's a moron/playing for the short term/etc. Debatable.
Let's be rational Eagles Nation. Andy Reid is protecting Kevin Kolb...and his own ass. He traded McNabb and went out on a limb with Kolb. How well Kolb does correlates with how long Andy Reid will be the head coach in Philly. A concussion to Kolb obviously hindered his start as the QB...but our offensive line does not help the situation. The truth is that Mike Vick is better at moving in and out of the pocket and can make up for a poor o-line. Mike Vick has trade value. Mike Vick can get us to the playoffs/wins with his legs, and that's all we care about. Am I wrong? If Kolb didn't get us to the playoffs, who here at BGN would have been happy about it? We are a city that lives off winning...and winning NOW not in the future. We will still win down the line with our young talent but what kind of team would rather win later than now, especially when jobs are on the line?
Well that's my 2 cents. In my opinion, if Mike Vick does okay but not too great by the trade deadline and Kolb is fully healed, we trade him for a 2/3rd round to a desperate team and THEN move on with Kolb.
By the way, when I read this on here and ESPN, I thought it was a joke. Afterwards, I was estactic that we were protecting the poor kid from becoming Matt Leinart.
