Philadelphia Eagles Week Two Takeaways
This post is sponsored by XFINITY
Every week, we'll be doing a stats roundup that brings together all the interesting takeaways from the previous Sunday's Eagles game.
Our first comes from Rich Hoffman of the Daily News... The last time an Eagles QB won a game in which he was sacked six times was Randall Cunningham in December of 1992.
Nate Allen got his second interception in as many games. He's the first rookie to have a pick in each of his first two games since 2004. He's the first Eagle to do so since 1979.
LeSean McCoy is the first Eagles RB to rush for 3 TDs in a game since Charlie Garner did it in 1995. It's kind of amazing to think that guys like Ricky Watters, Duce Staley, and of course Brian Westbrook never rushed for 3 TDs in a game.

Crazy about backs rarely rushing for three TD's
It happens on other teams much more often then here. It’s not a bad thing I suppose, just how the game plan is set up.
I am a bear of very little brains and big words bother me.
The 3 TD’s by a running back is odd, but it is really not as common as you may think.
That is the past 5 years.
A couple random names in there but the majority is LT, Larry Johnson, Adrian Peterson and a few other big names.
I guess it’s true. I’m sure Westbrook had games where he scored 3 TDs, but at least one was through the air.

Still waiting for people to get more excited about Nate Allen
Eagles FO wins again by not wasting a high pick on Eric Berry and getting us a FS for the next 10 years or so. The guy is a player, and is going to be a huge presence in the secondary for a long time.
In Kolb we trust...
I am definitely happy with the Nate Allen pick. In all seriousness, I didn’t think we were going to trade up as high as we did. I thought we were going to target a lineman and get Nate Allen with the Redskins pick. My coworker kept telling me not to trust USF players and so on and so forth. I’m pretty happy thus far.
But I just did some math. If Allen keeps up his INT pace, he’ll have 16 by the end of the year. Amazing.
Let the beasting begin.

6 sacks
How many would there have been if Vick wasn’t running for his life and we had KOlb in there? Just saying……
Cowboys suck.
I’d have to go back and see how many sacks came after Vick held the ball for 5-7 seconds first. Kolb would not likely do that. It’s also fair to say that Kolb wouldn’t have the ability to escape certain pressures that Vick could…
Either way, I don’t think you can guess how many times Kolb would have been sacked by looking at how many times Vick was. The circumstances of the game would have been completely different. Their styles are different and both lend themselves to taking or avoiding sacks in different ways.
