Chiefs Coach, Players React To Cameron Sheffield's Neck Injury - Arrowhead Pride
Kansas City Chiefs rookie outside linebacker Cameron Sheffield went down on Friday night against the Philadelphia Eagles. Sheffield and running back Mike Bell met on a helmet-to-helmet hit. After the collision, Sheffield hit the ground and didn't get up.
Trent Cole: 'I hope I'm alright' | Eagletarian | 08/28/2010
With the Eagles hoping for an improved pass rush to take the pressure off the secondary, Trent Cole, the team's top pass-rusher, is scheduled for an MRI today on his injured right ankle. Cole limped to the sideline during the second quarter of last night's win over Kansas City and then was carted into the locker room. X-rays were negative.

Iggles Blog - Philadelphia Eagles Blog: Early Thoughts on the KC Game
Friday night's game at Kansas City was a chance for the Eagles to calm some nerves and solve some problems. The Eagles decided to go wildcat on us and do just the opposite of what we wanted.
Studs and Duds From Kansas City
The Eagles' third preseason game started so promising. Then it was mostly downhill until the final drive, particularly for the first-team offense, which, not surprisingly, dominated the dud list.
Paul Domowitch: Eagles' backup RB Bell has a rough debut | Philadelphia Daily News | 08/28/2010
the Eagles' new running back wasn't able to do much with his first playing time of the preseason. He rushed for just 17 yards on eight carries in an ugly, 20-17 win over the Chiefs last night. Bell also appeared to blow a blitz-pickup assignment on one of the Chiefs' four sacks of quarterback Kevin Kolb, which is a major no-no when Andy Reid is your coach.

Is too much to expect a healthy Donovan McNabb for 16 games? The Redskins need him to be successful in 2010.

From Studs and Duds
“Andrews, while he can definitely show more power and nastiness, blocked well against the run and the pass. As head coach Andy Reid noted after the game, several of the five sacks allowed by the Eagles were a product of the running backs missing blocks. Another was Kolb’s fault. The interior of the line actually did pretty well in this game, with the guards leading the way.”
Weaver whiffed on a blitz pickup that lead to sack. Ditto on Bell and McCoy. I am surprised though he thought Stacy Andrews ‘blocked well against the run and pass.’
BTY – I hate how the word ‘several’ have become acceptable to describe any numerical quality. It is generally poor writing especially in this case – “several of five sacks”
Also from "Studs and Duds"
“Duds
Kevin Kolb – The final numbers showed 11-of-25 passing for 103 yards, no TDs and an interception. Not pretty.”
I completely agree. Had it not been the Chiefs that had him overthrowing and not seeing open receivers downfield, I would be less concerned. But the Chiefs, who saw him last year, and are not a good eam, had Kolb completely beffuddled. And Maclin looked HORRIBLE. Avant is suddenly dropping passes, which I’m praying is because it’s preseason and he doesn’t want to take monster hits yet like he did all last season.
McCoy looks sharp at least. And the pre-season defense looks amazing. Graham is coming on big time and Lindley looks to have mucho upside. Let’s hope the offense turns it around and the defense remains fairly lights out once the season starts.
But last night anyway, Kolb utterly sucked. Not Jake Delhomme bad, just Bobby Hoying bad.

Is it just me or does it seem like when players get paid there production drops a bit?? That goes for all sports. Then again it is preseason and we still haven’t shown all our cards.
