Printokay so look I think we all kno the birds r going nowhere this season. anyone who doesnt is just stupid because we dont have the pieces in place that we need 2 actually make a run.
we have no oline, we have no number 2 te, we have no good rb because leshawn is only a 3rd down back and no better because he cant run only catch.
basically the way to move ahead is to get good veterans. the whole buiold with the draft thing is stupid veteran teams win in the playoffs. the best team in the nfl by far is the patriots and they win by gettting veterans not by drafting rookies that cant contribute for like 3 years.
so anyway heres how the eagles should go to win after this season when theyll suck and go 4-12 because they have no veterans.
1st pete carol is a sucker and he needs wrs. so trade the seahawks jeremy 'overrated i suck' maclyn to them for a 1st round pick. we dont need maclyn riley cooper is better and will be good starting oppisite deshawn.
then trade that pick to the saints for jared evans to take stacy andrews place. next trade our 2011 1st round pick which will be high because we will suck this year to the patriots for logan mankins to play center for us he can do it and the pats want to get rid of him anyway.
so now we have the best ol in the league which is the most important thing by far. then all we need to is to draft a big RB in the 2nd round of the next draft and we will be all set. the rb only needs to be big and fast because we can use leshawn to pass protect and catch passes.
also we need a blocking te. celek can catch just fine we can find a te thats good at blocking later in the draft next year.
so basically thats what we need to do. i tested this by getting manknis and evans on the eagles in madden 11 and i won every game easy.
our defense is fine so if we get rid of stupid maclyn and get veterans like the best team the patriots we will win a bunch of superbowls because brady cant play forever.
so thats what we should do.

1. The Saints would never give up Evans.
2. You cannot expect to jump Mankins to Center and have him be a dominant player.
3. The Patriots have had a huge ripple effect in their drafting for two different reasons. First, they got really lucky and found Tom fucking Brady in the sixth round. Second, they’ve drafted really crappily in the higher rounds the past few years which has made it seem that you can win SBs just by signing veterans. Which isn’t true. Belichick is a fucking prick but he’s a good coach. And having a hall of fame QB makes everything better.

I thought when I saw the name it was the “Maclyn” guy! Dude, the last you posted about “Maclyn” you generated something like 200 posts about spelling the guy’s name right. And here you are incapable of spelling it right again. Its not that hard. You’ve got 5 of 6 letters right. Does your keyboard not have an “I” or something?
But no, lets ignore your obvious deficiencies in spelling a single player’s name correct. Lets talk about your actual post. You are wrong. Straight up.
The Patriots build through the draft every year. They also tend to acquire more draft picks than anyone else. Sure, you can point at Wes Welker and Randy Moss to try and make your point. Excepting for the fact they were both acquired through low-end draft picks, of course. Almost that entire team was built through the draft. Tom Brady, Laurence Maroney, The O-line, the entire defense, even their Kicker.
The way you’ve described operating isn’t like the Patriots at all. They value high-round draft picks more than any veteran. Randy Moss was acquired for a 4th round pick I believe. I think Wes Welker was acquired for a 2nd and a 7th. The way you are describing building a team is the Washington Fucking Redskins. Place no value on high round draft picks, trade for everyone else’s players, sign aging veterans, leave yourself no depth and no cap space and lose. Every year. Maybe you get lucky every 5 or 6 years and go to a playoff game in a down year. But thats your best case scenario.
Now lets look at Super Bowls. I don’t have the time or patience to go through them all and tell you how many players on each team over the past decade were drafted and how many were free agents. But. The Patriots, Steelers, Giants, and Ravens are all big proponents of building through the draft. And, I can’t believe I have to say this but, Madden doesn’t tell you shit about how the Eagles will perform with or without certain players. Last year I passed for 7000 yards with McNabb and over 2200 yards went to “Maclyn.”
Also, quick note, its “DeSean” and “LeSean.” Honestly, if you even want to be taken seriously, please, for the love of God, learn to spell names correctly. Its not that hard. If you were an actual Eagles fan, you’d know how to spell the names of our own players.
What you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. Veterans are the answer supposedly
- Yet he wants to trade Maclin to start a rookie in Cooper (not Avant)
- Draft a running RB next year in the draft and start him in place of McCoy
- Draft a blocking TE in the same draft who will also play alot
For a guy who hates rookies and building through the draft, 3/5 of your suggestions rely upon those 2 strategies.

Pretty pessimistic
I know that this is going to be long winded but I went nuts when I saw this post. I don’t think that the Eagles are realistically going to make it to the Super Bowl. But 4-12? To say that we have no offensive line based off of preseason games is ridiculous. Our line is coming off injuries and testing out the younger player to get an evaluation. Granted five sacks is awful, but I still take it into consideration that we are in fact in the preseason and the outcome of the KC game shouldn’t paint a complete picture of our upcoming regular season. I only hope that the O-line picks it up a bit. Kolb can’t be on the run the entire season or we will see this prediction come true.
As for out TE’s ability to block; I saw some pretty good ones last year that proved otherwise. I don’t think that he’s the best in the NFL by a long shot but he still can block. A backup TE may come from TE Rookie Clay Harbor or Cornelius Ingram, the jury is still out on Ingram’s durability and knee.
The only reason Shady didn’t perform as well as he should have was of the poor blocking of the O-line and the limited amount of carries he had during the preseason. I wouldn’t count him out yet either.
Veterans help teams but building through the draft has worked for several teams. Steelers anyone? How about the Colts? The Pats do sign a good amount of veterans but they actually do build through the draft, fyi. 8 out of the 11 offensive and 7 out of 11 defensive starters came from NE drafting them . So yes even the Patriots build through the draft.
Why would you want to trade Maclin and start Cooper? If anything I would promote Avant over Cooper. This is the biggest loss to your argument of "basically the way to move ahead is to get good veterans. the whole buiold with the draft thing is stupid veteran teams win in the playoffs". You would be starting a unproven rookie over a guy who played 15 games last year as a rookie in Andy Reid’s complicated offense who had 55 RECs, 762 YDS and 4 TDs. I think that Maclin will turn out to be a pretty decent compliment to DJAX.
After reading the rest I just came to the conclusion that you’re probably around 15 or so and can’t differentiate between madden and real football. It sounds nice in madden but would never happen in real life. Sorry dude your post was too much to pass up! Go Eagles!

Dude, Jason Peters played TE in college. & we can just put Austin Howard @ LT. That boosts our O-line & gives us a back-up TE. Problem Solved.
Antonio Bryant was just cut from Cinci. He can replace Maclin. Check.
