Philadelphia Eagles Fantasy Football Projections: Wide Receivers

We're continuing our series of fantasy football projections for the notable Eagles. Next up are the wide receivers. CBSSports.com is incredibly high on DeSean Jackson for 2010 actually ranking him as their #4 WR. They're projecting 77 catches for 1201 yards and 9 TDs. That would obviously be a monster season.

For Jeremy Maclin, they see a modest improvement over his rookie year. 64 receptions for 855 yards and 6 TDs. Actually, if you compare those numbers to what his numbers would have been last year if he started every game they're almost the same.

They're projecting Jason Avant at 43 receptions for 547 yards and 3 TDs.

Combined, the projections for the two starters would put them in the conversation for the best WR tandem in the league.

Maclin’s yardage seem low. He’s as least getting 900 yards.

Good Sign for Eagles Recievers?

Past two years the QB’s I’ve gotten in a “autodraft” league were Phillip Rivers two years ago and Matt Shaub last year. This year, I got Kevin Kolb – while past performance is no guarantee of future results, that makes me optimistic as an Eagles fan.

I think that Maclin is likely to do better as well

I feel for the kid. It was widely thought his NFL career would be over after the second tear, and it looks like that’s on point as he’s struggling for any type of time.

DJax as a Top Five Receiver

I may be in the minority, but I think DJax has a great chance of being a top five fantasy receiver in 2010. He is entering his third year in the league (a key development year for receivers) and has the right offense for fantasy success. The Eagles are a pass-first offense with a lot of talent on the outside to complement DJax, and more importantly, draw double coverages away from the receiver. I expect a great year for DJax.
