For all two of our readers out there who follow the happenings of the United Football League, former Eagles quarterback Jeff Garcia has just signed with the Omaha Nighthawks. He also reportedly turned down an offer from the Vikings to do so. You can't really blame him for wanting not to be in Favre's shadow.

Thanks to IowaEagle for breaking the news.

Thanks for the shoutout Bob!

I hope he does well, I might even take the 2 hour drive to see him play

I wonder what his salary is like

Good luck Jeff

He was a blue collar player here. Worked hard, smart, fit our system well.

Blue collar?!

He would be perfect for Philly. As long as the fans appreciate him.

/stereotype’d

But seriously, I appreciate his longevity without being a whining attention hog like Favre. Good luck to him

I wouldn’t be an attention whore either if I had a wife that looks like Mrs. Garcia.

Didn’t Shawn Andrews join them too? I think I have a new favorite UFL team.

According to their website roster...

They only have 6 players. Shawn Andrews did not sign with them.

And wait…You already had a favorite UFL team. Bandwagon fan, just joking

They do have Hollis Thomas, however, so you can still get your fill of former Eagles there.

I put a dollar in a change machine. Nothing changed.

Everytime Farve decides to come back, I will dislike him more. He needs to stop trying to get out of training camp and be a man.

eff you we winning anyway

UFL?? That's Funny!

So he’s retired and decided to play a little semi-pro ball to keep the juices going. That’s cool. But please don’t take that serious. 32 NFL teams can’t be wrong about a 40 year old Jeff Garcia.

I'm on board with the Eagles rebuilding plan.
I don't expect a winning season.
I don't expect a playoff appearance.
I do expect to see the best players emerge and improve week by week.
I do expect that this team at the end of the year shows that it can knock out teams trying to make the playoffs.
WE ARE REBUILDING

Am I alone here, or would people actually watch the UFL… if it were on in April, and not running concurrently with the NFL?

I definitely would

I think a developmental/minor football league is a great idea, and I’ve tried to give the UFL a chance in my mind, but I’ve been a bit disappointed so far. It looks like they’ve only learned from about half the mistakes that the XFL made.

Best Wishes Jeff

At his age, the UFL was probably a better fit for elder players that still wanna play. I
