BGN-Roster TE
The veteran was another team to add to his list as he joins the Eagles with 58%. Next up TE...
Brent Celek is a lock for not only a spot on the roster, he will be one of Kolb's main targets down the middle. Last year was a break-out season for Celek. 79 receptions, 971 yards, and 8 TD's. Celek and Brees were basically my fantasy team last season. And this year, Kolb will make Jackson. Maclin, and Celek 1,000 yard recipients.
Last year's thrid was still worth a banged up Ingram. My hopes have returned for the Gator, as he enters this season hopefully healthy. It's like Andy drafted him this year with all the excitement. I might see a lot more 2 TE sets this year
The question is who is backing up the captain and Cornelius Ingram?
Harbor was taken in the fourth round in this years draft, but could still be very valuable to this team. He is much like Ingram in that they are both athletic pass catchers. He leaves as the school's all-time leader with 150 receptions and ranked third in receiving yards (1,906 yards). He has experience as a fullback as well, making him a avaliable for depth without using another roster spot.
While he might not make the team, there are always long shots. The rookie replaces Mike Rucker off the roster, so he might do the same with Harbor.

dude
Harbor might usurp Ingram as the #2 TE by the end of the week

I'm not making my decision on whose 2 or 3
Till I see them in the preseason…
…I knew after the first game last year, that performance Eldra Buckley put on would ultimately solidfy his roster spot as the 3rd Running Back. Now everyone says Clay’s blocking abilities are spot on for a rookie. Does anyone know if either of them make contributions to ST?
Ingram
will be cut. Harbor is battling for the back up role with a player who is not on this roster yet.
Take the name off the back of the jersey's and reinvent football as a team sport.
Pay these guys 3,000,000 a year tops and match them dollar for dollar in a global indexed pension. Eliminate the irresponsibility by being responsible for making young kids over night millionaires.

Yeah, I agree that I think Ingram is in serious danger of being cut right now. Did not vote in the poll as I think Harbor is the backup, and it would be an absolute shock if the Eagles were to cut a rookie TE after spending a fourth rounder on him and claiming to be pleased with his progress. Lawrie apparently has a great rep as a blocker, only reason I could see him not making the team is that the Eagles tend to go for pass-catching TE’s rather than blockers.
If the season started today, my prediction would be:
Eagles’ TE’s: Celek, Harbor, Lawrie
Cut: Ingram
Rujasu...
you are gonna keep Lawrie over Ingram as your 3rd TE? A guy who is 29 years old, been in and out of the league for like 5-6 years and has a career of 4 catches and 43 yards? Now how does that make sense to you? If he had great blocking abilities he wouldn’t of played in the UFL last year.

Yes, that’s pretty much what I said. Say what you want about Lawrie, but he’s stuck around until 29, teams put him on the roster for a reason. He’s obviously not a pass-catching TE and that could be what keeps him off the team, but his blocking and experience are what have him in camp.
The real point here is that Ingram looks like a serious bust, and the Eagles may very well decide not to waste their time with him. Even though they favor pass-catchers, they did use Mike Bartrum as their TE3 for quite some time.
Ingram was a 5th round pick with noted injury issues. He’s not out of the game yet, but even if it came down to that, I’d find it hard to call him a bust.
I understand where you are coming from, but I gotta side with the Ingramnites on this one.
Sure, he’s a 5th rounder with injury issues. But were it not for the injury issues, he’d have been much higher than a 5th — so you have to take that into account for where he was drafted. In other words, with all of the issues he was nothing more or less than a 5th round pick, albeit a “high-risk, high-reward” 5th rounder. And in general, you don’t have high expectations for a 5th rounder, but you do expect him to make the team and play in the regular season at some point. If Ingram doesn’t at least play a real game in the NFL, and make some contribution, he’s a bust IMO. For a TE I’d at least be looking for a 5th round guy to become a serviceable backup TE, someone who can get a few TD catches, block well, or contribute on special teams. Ingram hasn’t done any of those things and it’s becoming very questionable that he will.
It’s not a huge loss if your high-risk 5th is a bust, of course. It’s not a high pick. But you certainly can’t call it a positive if the guy doesn’t make a meaningful contribution at some point.
sorry dude,
rujasu, your boy is just a camp body…he’s the TE Rob Meyer of this year. Be gone by the first week of Sept. by the latest.
Not trying to be a dick or anything. I assure you that if im wrong, I will come back here and ‘Eat Crow’
If we keep 2 TE’s: unless Corndog gets significant grabs in Preseason games, he still has a chance to be our number 2 TE. As soon as Reid heard the saying ‘Cornelius (when healthy) could very well have been the 2009 steal of the draft’, is street credit upgraded. We shall see…if its 3 TEs like when we kept LJ Smith, Celek, and Schobel…we will keep Celek, Harbor, Ingram. That’s the way I see it

He’s not “my boy.” Consider this about him though; the Eagles released Martin Rucker to get him. Rucker is a recent fourth-rounder, and two teams put claims in on Rucker after he was waived. Tampa Bay got him, and Tampa is terrible, but Dallas also put in a claim on him. So the Eagles cut a TE who garnered some interest in order to get this guy. I’d say he has some potential of making the team.
If they keep 2 TE’s, Clay Harbor is going nowhere. He was picked in the fourth round and has had a great camp by all accounts. Ingram, OTOH, has had a terrible camp and I could seriously see him being replaced by a waiver wire pickup before the start of the season if he doesn’t improve. If there’s no waiver pickup, then I’d say it’s a 50/50 battle between Ingram and Lawrie.
dude...
They released Rucker because the SOB was hurt and was doing no good as a ‘camp body’ when hurt…He got down to Tampa Bay and couldn’t even pass a phyiscal because he was hurt; now TB has released him yesterday. They picked up Nate Lawrie because they need a camp body. Make Sense?

Fair point about Rucker, he may be too hurt to contribute this season. Still, Lawrie is a journeyman and the Eagles have carried other players like that before. Even if they don’t, they could very well go with 2 TE’s again as they did last year, which would be Celek and Harbor. Or they could acquire another player.
Not saying Ingram flat-out won’t make the team, but I don’t think the odds are good if he continues to underperform in camp. It’s still early as they aren’t playing games yet, however, and a lot could change.
Not going to like... I like Clay Harbor more than I liked Ingram a year ago...
