He's one of the most winningest coaches in league history, has been to the playoffs 8 of 11 years, 5 CGs, and continuously keeps turning over the roster to young talented players with potential. Although I think our record didn't represent how bad we actually were last year, we still had an 11-5 season and now all the sudden Andy Reid could be on the hot seat if we tank next year?
I'll be the first to admit, Andy doesn't come without flaws. Now, there's a ton of coaches and advising that goes along into the game planning, not just Reid. So what exactly Andy is responsible for and what he isn't, isn't clear. However, since he's the head guy he makes the whole team click and what he does have under his belt is a hell of a lot of winning seasons. Furthermore, how many more teams can you say come prepared to play ball in December like a Reid coached team does?
I'm no prophet, but I'm usually right on my predictions and I predict next year if we tank it's going to be because our defense didn't live up to the billed expectations. Mainly, Daryl Tapp and Brandon Graham didn't generate much of a pass rush which as we know exposes a secondary and puts a lot of pressure on LBs no matter how talented either may be. Even Ray Lewis can looked sub par in his prime years when the D line wasn't hogging up lineman.
Even a mediocre QB should be able to survive this offense. We have too much young talent to not be able to at least finish top 15 in offense (I think we'll be top 5 , top 10 at worst). The only thing our QBs need to do is make quick decisions and be accurate.
OK that was off the record, but Andy Reid on the hot seat? Unbelievable. If you don't see Reid as a top 5 coach in the league right now you have a serious brain impairment (see: EvilBanner)
Let me leave you all with this. Bill Cowher is regarded as one of the best coaches in the NFL and some rate him as one of the best in history. Well guess what? It took him 14 years to finally get a ring and if you compare each coaches first 11 years Andy has been much more successful.
Andy won't be going anywhere for at least 3-4 years and thats barring a retirement or a string of bad personnel decisions (history says the latter probably won't happen).
