Howard looks very good against his fellow rookies, like a top 3 pick good. If he can perform somewhat as well against Cole and Patterson and the rest of the vets, I would love him to be a backup player this year.

Weighing in at 633 lbs, he/they certainly promises to be difficult to move off the line of scrimmage. Mobility could be a negative, but you’ve gotta like the upside.

BTW, I think it’s Austin Howard we’re talking about. He’s a LT prospect if I’m not mistaken, and has pretty good potential. Given that, I feel like he could possibly dethrone King Dunlap, a feat which would not seem that difficult, given that Dunlap is not an NFL-caliber offensive tackle.

I like what the kid has said when he’s given interviews. He’s got great size too. Lots of potential if he is quick enough and willing to learn. I gotta see him in a preseason game though

Question about Na Brown Process:

How do we know when the Na Brown winner earns that lofty title? Sure, he has to rip it up in camp, but then he has to do absolutely nothing during the season.

So, does the official naming occur at the end of the season? Or after we’ve seen enough to know that this guy ain’t worth a shit? I don’t know if we ever reached that point with Gibson because he was traded too soon.

If I’m not mistaken, you don’t have to be a bust in the regular season to win the Na. You have to come out of nowhere, but in theory a Na Brown winner could turn out to be productive. Just don’t bet on it, because there’s a reason you haven’t heard of him before.

That’s correct. It’s decided after camp is over. We’re planning on posting how the official Na’ Brown Award winner will be decided this year. There will be a definitive answer this year.
