2nd RB spot open

Mike Bell is most likely to get the 2nd RB spot but don`t count out Charles Scott and Eldra Bunkley at least one of these RB`s need to step up to the second roll but will LeSean McCoy be able to handle the starting RB job.If LeSean could possibly rush for 1,000 yards that would be a big help to lift pressure of Kolb.

LeSean McCoy               Mike Bell                    Charles Scott             Eldra Bunkley

I don’t think many people remember that fanpost, but it was hilarious. Probably one of the funniest ones I have read that wasn’t an EB fat Andy rant.

The only one I think that has a chance to beat out Bell for 2nd RB is Charles Scott, I don’t think Buckley has much of a chance to make the team to be honest with you.

if buckley makes me the team, or god forbid battles for the 2nd RB spot it tells you a lot more about the inefficiencies of bell/scott than the talents of Eldra.

People… please. Fanposts are for people attempting to actually write an article or opinion piece. If you have less than 3 sentences, and neither of those sentences actually says anything new, don’t put it in a fanpost. Look, my comment is already twice as long as your write-up. Here’s a picture:

McCoy + Weaver will get the bulk of the carries

Bell will get the 3rd most (whichis like 50-75)

Buckley and Scott will battle for the 3rd RB spot and likely get 10 total carries and thats when we’re blowing a team out

I think Bell will get 2nd most carries

I remember Reid saying that they’re Weaver will go back to a more traditional role of a FB in lead blocking but will still be used in the passing game.

i wonder why?

he was a great runner too

I think Weaver will still get carries just not as many per game like he did at the end of last season because we have more then 1 healthy RB, because you got to remember we were pretty much only playing with 1 RB if you don’t count Weaver as one last year.

by The Legend on Jul 28, 2010 1:16 AM EDT up reply actions

I hope Buckley makes this squad

Not because of him as a rb, but a special teams player because he’s awesome there. With our 60-40 pass ratio who’s behind Mccoy does not matter to me really because they will get no burn anyway in our air it out offense.

Buckley is better than advertised.

both as a running back and on special teams. I wouldn’t count him out.

by IggleGreen on Jul 27, 2010 9:34 PM EDT up reply actions

Buckley is a bum as a runner, I always cringed last year when Andy gave him the ball because it seemed like it took him forever to get a yard and it pissed me off that he just didn’t give it to Shady.

by The Legend on Jul 28, 2010 1:13 AM EDT up reply actions

Interesting post.

Did you see games that I missed?

Almost every time they gave him the ball on 3rd and short he punched it right through. He was THE north/south runner on the team. Not even Weaver was that reliable – because as big as he is, Leonard is actuallly more of a shifty guy.

Now with Bell here, Buckley’s line attacking ability is redundant, but I respect him for that ALONG with fact that he tackled like a maniac on special teams.

Maybe there are better options now, but he is no bum and I’m kind of surprised that you said he was. You usually have a better view of these things.

Not one of those running backs is named Booker.

We already win.

I wouldn’t count Mallet out yet. I know, i know, camp body, but the guy has some talent. Let’s give everyone a fair shot. He has way more speed then Bell or Buckley and I would not doubt he makes the practice squad if not the roster. Heard he has a mean streak too, and has been working out with Duce, no doubt learning how to block in our scheme.

Duce was the best blocking back I have ever seen in the NFL. I have seen him take on Defensive tackles and ends and lay them out, and not with a cut block, with sheer balance and strength. I guess you can tell Duce was one of my all time favorite Eagles. I mean who the hell watches a half-back block, during a football game..lol

if we keep mallett

scott will have to go IR or practice squad. He wont last on the practice squad. But if Mallett wins we’ll have no choice.
