Did the Eagles donate money to the Inquirer?

by rajav on Jul 22, 2010 10:29 AM EDT reply actions

This proves it. They DO read our shit and occasionally steal our ideas...
This past April, Banner signed a four-year extension to continue as president of the Eagles. That day, someone who goes by the message-board moniker “EvilBanner” posted a haiku on bleedinggreennation.com:

Behind his glasses

There is no humanity

It is a black day.

Three minutes later, EvilBanner posted another haiku:

The rich boys giggle.

Big yachts but no trophies.

Life at NovaCare.

EvilBanner for the win!!

Jim Johnson(RIP). Brian Westbrook(36). Donovan Mcnabb(5). Brian Dawkins(20). Sheldon Brown(24). Jeremiah Trotter(54).

Thanks for the memories...

Jesus God. This is something else, alright.

...But if he pulls the rug on his quarterback, Reid must do it knowing that he let McNabb down more than McNabb ever let him down.

I’m rec’ing this just because EB’s haiku was included in that article.

Same

That’s pretty damn impressive. Hard to believe the folks at Philly.com read all of our comments.

I wonder if they will include my spicy Vick rants in the YO section of the DN?

I’m sure they comment here too. Probably go by CNCITINFO, ProfilENT, and the various ‘rpp’ characters.

It's easy for me to believe ...

… Those of us who work in sports media might avoid watching or reading when we get home cause it just feels like more work, or repeating what we just did, but at the same time, it’s natural. We read as fans or we read for reasons of keeping up with our beats.

Look at it like this: quoting a blogger is like interviewing a fan on the street, except without all the work involved :) Ten years ago you had to leave your desk, talk to 5 or 6 people before someone says something you can use, etc.

That said, I really liked the story and how thenwriter got Banner to open up. EB being quoted was a nice touch, but don’t you feel guilty about making the man cry at night?

When the Eagles win the championship, I’m getting a picture of you & banner hugging.

I wonder who else reads this blog

Maybe I should paint on a Eagles bikini with body paint and post a picture of it in hopes that Playboy is reading.

Nice work Evilbanner.

Just think, we all knew EvilBanner before all the fame

But what’s up with the real Joe Banner and the sucker punch? Dude, just ask the kid for your toy back before you have to resort to a cheap shot.

what the hell is up with that guy?

That and he can't sleep at night after contract negotiations where he had to concede on some points because he felt like he lost

I admire the competitive nature, but it’s ok to give a guy a fair contract

Apparently he struggles with human communication… Good thing he was so small; a bigger kid might have knocked the bully down the stairs and killed him.
