DeSean Jackson Tweets About Club Shooting

While there's no chance it will garner the kind of uproar the previous club shooting incident this offseason did, it's worth nothing that Eagles' WR DeSean Jackson was present at a club recently where a shooting took place. He tweeted about the incident.

LA is still same ol LA... Ppl out shootn at the club.. Craazy 2 females and a dude got shot.. Pray for them.. Thankn god for keeping me safe

To be fair, DeSean doesn't specifically say he was at the club so I don't necessarily want to jump to that conclusion. However, the implication does seem to be that he was present at the time. A quick google search turned up news on a shooting outside of a West Hollywood nightclub Sunday night where three people were shot.

The Vick story should have been a non-story

Besides, after watching jackson torch my G-men so much with speed couldn’t he just outrun bullets anyway?

N***a Moments

When will they ever stop? Don’t do nothing, but get innocent people hurt and everyone else in trouble.

Innocent?

The shooting took place at Guys & Dolls about 2:10 a.m. When is the last time anyone was out at 2am collecting canned good for the homeless or out looking for a toys for tots bin? Maby a rich ass coke head but 99.9% of the time it’s never good news.

What does that have to do with anything?

Millions of people go out every night. Does that mean they deserve to get shot? It’s not like hoodlums are known for their careful target selection and pinpoint aim.

it's the whole culture

the object is how retarded you can be.. throw money around like it grows on trees, dress as stupid and ignorant as possible with ugly jewelry and clothes, shoot someone who “disses” you, treat women like you’re a pimp, etc… and the worst part is, they nver learn, when they get in trouble it’ sjust “street cred”

E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!!!

good post (as usual)

football is getting more and more like basketball (in terms of image)… players acting like idiots… dressing in stupid ugly clothes and jewelry… etc. i find myself getting progressively less interested with each arrest, drug bust, shooting, suspension, etc. I’m sure i’m not alone in looking for my sports entertainment elsewhere… if i were an owner i’d be looking to cash out now because the value of my franchise is going nowhere but down with morons like these as the face of my product!!!!!

How much do you think it bothers Laurie and Banner when they see tweets like this? I know DJ has every right to go out and enjoy himself, (as did Darrent Williams) but he even references in his tweet that he is well aware that this sort of thing is all too common in LA.

Is it too much to expect young players to be able to party and have a good time while also exercising a little bit of restraint and good judgment?
