Around SBN: Shaq As Orlando Magic General Manager? Don't Bet On It

Even if I'm not signed, I'll be there, doing the learning part. I'm going to be at camp, regardless. Just to let Coach know I'm serious. If I'm not there, my starting position might be in jeopardy.

Good news

We really need this kid to give us an extra push in the pass rush section.

I was thinking back to the Saints game and just remembered. BOTH of their starting tackles were out and we still let Brees dink and dunk us all over the field. I think they ran all over us that game too. Let’s go Tapp and let’s go Graham and hopefully a well rested Parker will be able to continue to be a nice role player.

Why would he hold out

He’s a 5th round draft pick fighting for a roster spot. he has no leg to stand on lol. Despite a lot of people’s high expectations (trust me I really like what this kid brings) it still wouldn’t surprise me to see Baskett be ahead of him in the depth chart

Don't know why he'd hold out

I’m just wondering what the f*ck is on the kid’s mind.

I know.

He better get his hippie ass signed and to training camp on time.

Maybe they can come to a compromise.

Like instead of them fighting over pot brownies, Andy can have the brownies and Cooper can have the pot. Its a win-win.

with all these athletes putting "I" in front of the team

its really nice to see a young man with his priorities in order… his attitude alone is awesome

uh..

Yes, you shouldn’t be “distracted” by your first round selection, but it should be on your mind. You don’t draft a first round DE to play the bench. I feel its one of the positions that sitting won’t help.

2010-11 Predictions:

Kevin Kolb will go to the probowl and complete >65% of passes.

Jeremy Maclyn will have more receptions than Miles Austin & Steve Smith

Graham will have the starting LDE spot tied up by week 5, win ROTY, and have >10 Sacks

11-5 finish.

True

But you don’t just hand a first round pick the starting position either. They often have to work their way up over preseason. It’s good that Graham will be trying to get up to speed even when he can’t practice with the team.

He might be at camp, but I doubt he'll be running drills

Unless his agent is an idiot, beyond the lighter workouts and of course the studying/film room. You don’t risk an injury until that contact is signed

I do like his attitude

by Smallbugger on Jul 11, 2010 7:36 AM EDT reply actions

Agreed re: attitude

The bust rate for 1st round DEs is super, super high. I want him to think he’s gonna start. If he’s content being a role player he wasn’t work the 13th pick overall.

I hope he'll be at camp

because I was interested in seeing him when I’m there. Hopefully he get this shit settled soon.

Good news

I really like this kids attitude. Now we’ll see if it actually matters in games, but its a good start.

I'm now Kolb's biggest fan
