For Kolb's sake, Eagles must ramp up running game - Clifton Brown - NFL - Sporting News
The Eagles have changed quarterbacks for '10, trading Donovan McNabb to the Redskins and elevating backup Kevin Kolb. Will the Eagles' running game make Kolb's transition easier or tougher? Here are five questions that will help determine whether the Eagles run the ball more effectively this season:

Giants' new stadium has turf and wind issues | Philadelphia Daily News | 06/16/2010
"You could tell if you look up at the goalposts," Justin Tuck said. "One set of flags would be going in one direction and the other in the other direction. The wind is going to play a factor, but we like that. We'll be used to it by the time we play here come the late fall."

It's clear that both statements from Haynesworth and his agent are complete fabrications to get out of a situation for no other reason in that Albert doesn't want to work hard.
Brian Westbrook: Choice of a new team 'has to make sense financially' - The Huddle: Football News from the NFL - USATODAY.com
The Redskins, Westbrook said, are "a great fit for me." But he added, "It just has to make sense financially as well." "Really there's no clear-cut favorite," he said. "But I want to go to a good football team, a team that can win. And I do know Washington does have a very good program. And some of these other teams I'm interested in, as well."

Re: Westbrook
In other words: “I want to play for the Redskins because I’m still pissed at the Eagles and want to stick it to them. However, they’re only offering me the veteran minimum and I have too much pride to take it. Two years ago I was one of the best RBs in the NFL, and I still want to be paid like one.”
Sad, sad, sad to see this happening to BWest. I wish he’d just retire.

On the wind at the Giants’ new stadium…

Sure, it’s fine for you, but what about Eil Manning?
On Celek’s drops…

There’s no way that’s accurate. I personally have a deep, deep disdain for drops, and if Celek was truly dropping about one pass per game, I’d notice. I’d like to see film of that. Show your work, Football Outsiders.
Formerly Bye, Dawk :(
He had that one game in particular that
he dropped a few passes. And it was said that he sprained his thumb. Maybe, but he did have McNabb throwing 120 mph balls inaccurately so he had to not only catch them but adjust to them. I put little confidence into the dropped ball stats. Who knows where the pass was or in what situation..ie him going up to catch the ball and getting decked by two defenders.

Haha, the comments over at FO are awesome. My favorite one: Who got paid more per reception by the Raiders? DHB or Javon Walker?

Eagles WRs have been leading the league in drops for years
I wont even have to mention why.
BUT.. on another note..why would we change our scheme? One of the reasons why we switched to Kolb was because he was more accurate on the hsort and intermediate throws…hes “supposed” to be a better passing qb so why would we start running now?

Why run a bit more now
So the opposing defense is less sure what’s coming, and therefore not necessarily in the best formation to try to stop us.

The 60/40 balance works fine
It doesn’t make any sense.. Pass like crazy with the inaccurate QB and then run the ball more with the supposedly more accurate QB.
Those short passes ARE like runs, they just have to be executed properly.
But I gurantee Andy NOR Marty are going to deviate from the 60/40 ratio — they didn’t when Kolb started vs the Saints and Cheifs

I’m cool with an 85 / 15 if it gets the W

your right
I have no idea where this idea that Andy will all of a sudden run just because he has a different QB who is the full time starter

AGH
first I’d like to complain that for some reason, the past couple days my work computer will not allow me to reply to peoples comments… this is just hot damn ridiculous.
I remember Celek having that game after he injuried his thumb and he did drop a few that game, so that could account for about 1/4 of the seasons drops.
I don’t think we are going to run the ball anymore than usual. If we had someone like Johnson, then maybe. But with McCoy and Bell as backs… I don’t see much of a change in the way we ran the ball last year – and thats because Westbrook was injuried almost the whole season so what you saw is what you get.
I hope the Skins can find a whole in Haynesworths contract so they can get some of their money back that the gave him in April for not showing up to OTAs. He is getting 21 million, whether he was on the Raiders or the Skins, he got paid to do a job… so f’in do it! I really really despise him.

As an outsider looking in
NO WAY Celek drops that many passes. Dude is solid in the hands department.
I looked at the Madden picture
And I was like OMG! Those graphics look terrible! But then i realized it was only the wii, so its okay.

and Jax looks hilarious
MJD looks like a badass tank. He’s got these huge shoulders that come down to these tinyass legs. That game looks kinda cool, but we controls are just not sensitive/accurate enough for me. I wonder if how you play it.
