As per ESPN insider rumors, Atogwe may be released soon by the Rams or else they'll have to pay 110% of his 2009 salary for 2010.
Do you guys still want him, even though we have Nate Allen? Pros? Cons? Is this fanshot just another attempt to get Atogwe's face up in here?

But yeah, I saw we should sign him. There’s no guarantee that Allen will be a star this year. If we can shore up the safety spot with a top tier safety, I’m all for it.
there’s no one on the depth chart right now I’d worry about cutting in favor of Atogwe (except Allen)

I don’t think they’ll go for him. He’s too expensive to be a backup and I think the team is committed to Allen at this point. You never know though…

But! Look at DeSean Jackson. He was drafted in the second round, started (I believe) as #5 or 6 on the depth chart during minicamp/training camp, and was a starter by the end of the year. The Eagles also started Juqua Parker instead of Brandon Graham at this year’s minicamp opposite Trent Cole. The minicamp depth chart means little since rookies rarely start off as starters. They need time to learn the system, and the best way to do that is with the second or lower teams.

About 10 minutes ago, I was pondering my own existence. Then I decided that it didn't matter.
Wasnt fast enough to play CB in a noncover 2 system to begin with… 10 months ago he had has left ACL repaired… Dec 1, 2008 he had surgery on his right ACL (and another ligament)… Dont see it happening.

I think Reid is giving Nate waaaay too much credit here. He would get abused in man coverage and his strength in coverage has always been playing more of a centerfielder type role.
If only there was some type of big NFL event where all of the teams and all of these young college players got together and “drafted” these young players to each team… I bet you that would have been a good place to pick up a CB (or even a ballhaking safety that actually has the abilities to play RCB in a pinch).
