Around SBN: Yankees Deny Rumors That Team Is For Sale

Tomorrow, Mr. Westbrook, still determined to make it another year in the NFL, is scheduled to visit with Coach Shanahan and the Redskins. This being the same Redskins that already have Clinton Portis, Willie Parker, and Larry Johnson in their running back corps (I wonder what Barry Sanders is doing these days?) Still, wouldn't it be wild if Washington suddenly had our starting quarterback AND halfback from last year? Our week four matchup against them is shaping up to be a very interesting one, indeed.

Thanks to Scott K for breaking the news.

Mike Shannahan's plan

Shannahan’s ego is so big he wants to prove he can turn in group of running backs into an elite rushing force so that’s why he only has backs over 30(Willie Parker, Portis, LJ, Westbrook) maybe he will sign John Riggins as well

All they need to do now is

sign Owens and Plaxico and I would watch every single Skins game.

So would I.

This would be a comedy, right?

People asked what I thought and I said "I have no emotion for that"

1. How is he gonna get carries along with Willie Parker, LJ and CP? He could probably start for them at WR/PR though.
2. Seeing Westbrook on your team will be fun until the first concussion-level hit. Then you’ll feel guilty for signing him.
3. You can’t be mad at who your girlfriend dates after you break up with her. Similarly, the Eagles let Westbrook go, it’s been a few months, he’s free to date, er, play for whoever he wants now. If we liked it then we shoulda put a ring on it.

Plus, my man J.Reid says the meeting was largely brought on by a joint appearance Allen and Westbrook were scheduled to do today anyway.

I bet Asante wouldn’t call him a weasel.

C'mon...

Are you really telling me that Donny and Westbrook wearing Red isn’t gonna piss you off a little bit?

Ew..

I loved Westbrook, he was the most exciting player on the Eagles when I started really following (famous 07 year) and to see him on the ’Skins would be.. weird. I guess McNabb broke the mold though.

Wouldn’t it be wild if they had our starting QB and RB from last year ANNND Terrell Owens??

The craziest part of that is that it’s very possible.

Washington suddenly had our starting quarterback AND halfback from last year?

You mean last decade? Yes. that would be insane.

To be honest with how much Westy didn’t play last year I consider McCoy last years starter and I think after the concussions McCoy was getting the ball more anyways.

agreed

and i HATE to say this but he was showing signs of slowing down the year before that too. His best years were from 03-7…and a graet 5 years they were

If they want to do the Eagles South...

I understand Tre Thomas and Darren Howard are looking for jobs.

let's not jump to conclusions, my friends...

why, it was only a week or so ago that westbrook was visiting the rams… and how did that end? the redskins already have a bunch of old running backs. i’d be shocked if westbook went to the skins where he’d be lucky to get 5 or more carries a game.

by awd777 on May 12, 2010 5:59 AM EDT reply actions

Don't you know?

They’re gonna sign more and more RB’s after thirty.. They hope to have ten premier backs past their prime so they can all get three carries a game.

He passed a physical with the Rams.

They just haven’t offered him a contract – yet.
