Eagles Academy

Hey everybody. My wonderful wife got me a ticket for the Eagles Academy on on May 15th at the NovaCare Complex. Is anybody else from BGN going?

Right now my buddy and I are going and I was wondering if anybody else is either going to this one or has been to one in the past. Is it just a bunch of guys who look the "Cape Wearing Fan" from the movie Invincible?

Anyway, if anybody else is going let me know and maybe we can introduce ourselves.

You get put into groups and you’re lead through the Novacare complex to tour the facility, training rooms, locker room, film study room, etc by a player. In this case the player we’re with is Troy Vincent. Then you meet with some of the coaching staff and they teach you the ins and outs of offensive and defensive strategy and what they’re looking for when they break down film and whatnot. Then you see the training dome that they practice in during the season and I think they teach you some drills. I’m sure parts of it will be a little bit over the top but I really wanted to see the complex. And the idea of getting Troy Vincent’s autograph is pretty cool for me since I was a huge fan.

no i was referring to the rifleman’s creed that we were taught in boot camp is different from the one in those times … but all things change in the military constantly so im sure not many are surprised

the point of the movie is that you must be desensitized and dehumanized to the point of having no empathy or love for the fellow humans you’re fighting.

Interesting tidbit about that. That is why they use silhouttes as targets. They want to train your mind to just see an outline not a person. It is actually quite ingenious. To this day I sometimes only see people as silhouttes. The military knows what tyhey are doing in that aspect.

Oh.. My.. God..

I’ve been reading these “Full Metal Jacket” comments for ten minutes, and I didn’t really notice the last word Jacket and for some strange and off reason, thought you were talking about Full Metal Alchemist. I should be stoned (old-fashioned sense, not get high) for thinking that.

The Eagles WILL redeem themselves in the '10-'11 season, with a win at SuperBowl 45 in Dallas!
