New Eagles get jersey numbers
A few notables... Brandon Graham is 54, Nate Allen is 29, Te'o-Nesheim is 52, Sapp is 94, Cooper is 14, & Kafka is 8

is it bad/weird
that i hate the number 8? It will always remind me of Aikman
Brent Celek>Keith Brooking
I was really hoping Kafka kept 13
Kafka played with the number 13 through college – didn’t he? Somehow I just loved the idea of someone named Kakfa having the number 13… which I guess is equally weird to hating number 8.
Cooper
checked out some of the high lights on Riley Cooper on youtube…

Am I the only one
who sees some of Terrell Owens in that clip?
Kid's good.
I like the pick. Looks like he has pretty good speed from the video. Straight up burns a handful of D-backs.
Agreed
I think Sapp is going to be the steal of the draft. I want to see how he does at OLB.

This sucks
My most recent jersey purchase was McCoy, number 29.
Allen just took his number, and now Shady is 25.
2 options
Buy a new McCoy Jersey… or you could get an Allen nameplate and cover up the name on your 29
About 10 minutes ago, I was pondering my own existence. Then I decided that it didn't matter.
Getting a new nameplate
Do you know of anyone who has actually done this and how they did it? I’ve called a few places that do jerseys and they say they don’t have the lettering needed for the Eagles jerseys. I have a few jerseys that could use new nameplates so if you could offer any suggestions that would be great. Thanks.
I'm liking these numbers
I’m happy Graham came to his senses and took 54 (the best damned number there is), which is pretty damned close to the 55 that he wore at Michigan. A guy’s nuner can tell you a lot about them… Graham was a top linebacker recruit going into Michigan, and took 55 expecting to play MLB, but kept it when he switched to DE. that Linebacker is still part of Graham, hence he kept a linebacker number now that he is in the big league.
Another interesting thing is how players themselves covet certain numbers. 93 is one of those numbers, because it is associated with domination on the d-line. I find it interesting that Antonio Dixon has now switched to #90 from his #64. 64 is a low-tier number on the d-line, for whatever reason, and all the 90s are in a higher one (with 92 and 93 being at the top…for whatever reason).
Just a fresh way to look at the numbers.. Just think about the psychology behind them, it’s a good exercise in empathy, and why I’ve been looking forward to seeing the rookie numbers.

Something else that will be cool
Is seeing what guys change numbers after the first round of cuts. I can see Juqua Parker’s #75 garnering interest if/when he’s let go. Some others…
Dobson Collins’ #11 - Riley Cooper- Charles Scott, Trevard Lindly
Dimitri Patterson’s #23 —Nate Allen, Trevard Lindly
Dwayne Wright’s #32
Dallas Reynolds’ #66— Daniel Teo Neshiem

You think...
Cooper gets cut over Dobson Collins?

Interesting...
I thought Graham was getting 94? Oh well, I like 54 more anywho.
54 is the most badass defensive number.
The Eagles WILL redeem themselves in the '10-'11 season, with a win at SuperBowl 45 in Dallas!
True, true.

False.
92 is the most badass of badasses. ;)
Agreed!!!
Reggie is the king, end of story…

Love this pick Sapp!
“Beware of D-Ware” … “Holy crap, its Ricky Sapp” …lol I tried
Philly is gonna try and unleash everything when McNabb comes back to town on Oct. 4. They really built up their DE’s & LB’s….can’t wait.

I like it!
Looks like he could add some muscle to his frame and still keep his quickness. If he does do that I can maybe see him playing DE yet, but it may take a year or two to get that muscle on him.
Either way i’m excited to see what they have in store for him.
