Eagles Sign 11 Undrafted Free Agents
The Eagles have released their official list of undrafted rookie free agents who have agreed to terms with the team. Looks like we finally get some new offensive linemen - guard Zipp Duncan of Kentucky, tackle Jaraill McCuller of NC State, and tackle Austin Howard of Northern Iowa.

………..Could he potentially be the next Miles Austin?? Big WR from a little school who didnt get much notice. The kid is listed at 6-5!!!!! DAAAAYYUUUM!!!! If he has better hands than Baskett and can run a decent route he’s gonna be a problem for somebody’s secondary!!!………………

Nicely put.
The Eagles WILL redeem themselves in the '10-'11 season, with a win at SuperBowl 45 in Dallas!
Too bad
“fucking” him doesn’t make him bad. He is still a monster regardless even as an eagles fan I have to admit it :(

I really dont think hes that good of a WR. I would much rather have DeSean, Maclin then Miles, Bryant….

Hes good but over-rated for the fact he plays on “americas team”

Miles is a beast and tough to take down. Simple way to stop that though. A) drill romo into the ground. B) cover him so good he doesn’t get his hands on the ball. Bottom line is d jax and maclin are definitely a better pairing.

Ehh
Depending on how good Bryant turns out, but I still think Austin is better than maclin and Jackson, but we will see because maclin will be a second year wr and the jump in productivity better be high.

I have no idea what everyone sees in Austin that they put him in their top 5. Hes a good number 1 receiver not great. Fitzgerald, Calvin Johnson, Andre Johnson, Marshall, Vincent Jackson, Wayne, and DeSean in my mind are all better then he is. I might have also missed a few.

He needs another good season
to verify that he is actually worthy of “WR1” status. I look at the cautionary tales of Michael Clayton and Eddie Royal: wait before we decide it all.
I think he’s among the best now, but who knows? I thought Royal would pan out better than DeSean after last year.
Berries are nice, but Graham crackers taste pretty good too.

you think austin is better than jackson
ill forget that you involved maclin and i honestly think he will be better and more reliable than jackson in 2 years … but seriously austin better than jackson … there no stat you could bring up that would make me agree with you …

Really?
I mean all the receiver stats favor Austin, and he did it with less starts. I hate doing this, but Austin had 300 more yards, and 2 more touchdowns while not starting for the first how many games? Jackson is still great, no doubt, but Austin killed it last year.
What?
Right now, Austin is better than both.

I STRONGLY disagree. DeSean is a great receiver, and a GREAT special teamer. I dont like slow receivers that may be why i dislike austin, other then the fact that hes a cowboy.

austin isnt slow
hes actually pretty fast, maybe not desean fast but that doesn’t mean he isn’t fast considering desean is one of the fastest recievers in the league.
by Desean Da Man on Apr 26, 2010 11:58 PM EDT up reply actions
Hes not NFL fast, when i see him run compared to other WR’s its not comparable.

Austin and Jackson are two very different types of of players. Austin is a tall strong receiver while jacksons a small shorter speedster so to compare them is difficult. Austins game is more comparable to maclins then Jackson.

Wouldn’t shock me if he made the roster but I think the eagles like Cooper a lot wouldn’t mind seeing Cooper and simonds and let baskett go.
by ryanitus on Apr 26, 2010 10:53 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions
I like cooper, hes 6’3 with good hands, a great red-zone WR.

I thought Simmonds was interesting as a red zone threat. Didn’t his write up say something like 53 receptions and 18 TDs? I could see him as a 5th receiver for red zone if his hands are good and he’s dedicated. Not knowing much about him, he sounds intriguing.
I’m not banking much on Cooper, nothing against him, but WRs from the Gators have a pretty bad track record in the NFL.
Agreed...
I was hoping for a big “red zone” threat since last year when the G-cants drafted Ramses Barden; I also believe he is listed at 6’6"; I am also counting on Paul Dender?, the CB from Purdue listed at 6 foot; they said he put up top 5 numbers in the Combine.

wanted barden last year...
salt in the wound the giants took him w/ the pick we traded them. wanted cam thomas this year, of course chargers take him w/ the pick we trade them.

I was hoping for Tony Washington but I just found out that he is a registered sex offender so that could be a PR nightmare if that were to happen.
When he was 18 he had consensual sex with his 15 year old sister, that’s why. Obviously he had a messed up childhood, and I feel bad for him. I hope he catches on somewhere, but Green Bay would be a lot better for him — less media attention.

Shit can get confusing if you don’t have the right structure when growing up. Incest has been around since the dawn of time, and even though most cultures make the majority of incestuous relationships taboo, it will never entirely disappear. I’m sure it happens more than you’d think. My question is, how’d they get caught? It’s probably better because they were able to receive therapy, but still…

if he wanted to commit incest
he was about 150 years later unfortunately it is frowned upon in developed countries, and last time i checked the US is a developed nation.

(he is from the south)
Woah woah woah there sportsfan. Because he’s from the “south” doesn’t justify him having sex with his sister. I’m from Tennessee.. Which is the south, and I don’t go around fucking my sister, lol. Just saying: be careful what you say about incest in the south, you’ll get your ass kicked.. Not by me, cause I really don’t care. Haha.

Incest?
What the fuck is wrong with this guy good thing he isn’t on the eagles we would just get made fun of for it. Disgusting even if you had a messed up childhood you don’t fuck your sister you instead become a drug dealer running for your life. Wow that is disgusting. Yuck!

We wouldn't get made fun of for it.
We’d be like the “rehab” for players with problems (ie, incest, dog-killing: by the way, I don’t think Vick did anything completely wrong, just saying). And they’d twist it on the fans or something stupid.

oh ok, he was only 16 when he fucked his sister ...

I don't have an account
But someone should definitely do that and see how long it takes to get corrected.

Guess who else played TE in college...
He’s our best O-lineman right now on the team.
And he was undrafted, was he not? Or was it a really late round pick?
I’m speaking of Jason Peters.
…that was his point
About 10 minutes ago, I was pondering my own existence. Then I decided that it didn't matter.
LOL.............
Haha ok i guess i shoulda figured there was a reason why they werent takin O-lineman, i shoulda gave them the benefit of the doubt but i was quick 2 judge, i guess they knew along they were gonna sign these guys 2 free agent deals 2 try 2 let them win a roster spot, and i havent checked any of them out in depth yet but we all know some great players were never drafted so we’ll see.

I've always wondered
in the NFL, although it would be stupid, can you have a player to play both sides of the ball? In one game?
The Eagles WILL redeem themselves in the '10-'11 season, with a win at SuperBowl 45 in Dallas!
Definitely
Doesn’t happen too often these days (except in emergencies like mass injuries) but I know there used to be 2-way players. Lots of teams put WRs out in prevent defensive formations (for their jump ball abilities), Randy Moss got a pick last year.

No surprise
That you see 3 OL including 2 T. Backup T if going to be one of the more interesting battles in camp because their isn’t a ton of depth there. It wouldn’t shock me if McCuller or Howard wins the last lineman spot.
I texted to Austin Howard yesterday,
at OTA’s and he said that he was supprised how small the guys were he is thinking that he has a good shot to make a backup role. Nice thing is that he is a hard worker, smart and takes coaching well so I hope he does well.
