While the majority of people last week were talking about the Eagles needs at CB and S, I was spending a lot of time looking at the D-Linemen that the Eagles might take. I had Jerry Hughes, Tyson Alualu, Derrick Morgan, Graham, JPP all rated high. There is a DT left on the board that I also had really high too. His name is Brian Price out of UCLA. What is his specialty? Pass-Rushing! Andy Reid said in interviews after the Graham pick that the Eagles knew that good defense starts with the D-Line, and he always wants to get better on the lines. Brian Price is a guy who can push the pocket back and get to the quarterback.
Another DT that I have had the Eagles linked to was Geno Atkins from Georgia. He is another pass-rushing DT who could come in and help the defense out starting from year one.
I am not guaranteeing that they will target D-Line again on day 2... but I definitely think it could help a lot. I am not sure that they have to take a safety this draft. The Eagles have Macho Harris, Quentin Demps, Quintin Mikell, and Marlin Jackson. That is a good foursome, and you shouldn't reach for a safety if a better player is on the board. I agree with a lot of analysts when I say that Dexter McCluster would be a BIG-TIME impact for the Birds offense. He would take a lot of pressure off of DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin. Guys like Charles Brown, Vlad Ducasse, and Rodger Saffold are all still available at O-Line... guess who likes O-Linemen?
Here is my remaining list of Eagles needs in the order that I see them...
