We overpaid for Graham.

I want to start by saying that I was very surprised by the pick. Only because I never even bothered to check any film on Graham. Most had him listed as OLB, so he fell off of many radars for the Eagles.

But after reading up on him, and seeing how McShay, Shefter, Priscoe and other praise the pick, and most agree he is a beast, I like the pick now. I am happy we stole him away from the Giants and stood away from Jason Pierre-Paul. I think the pick was appropriate, and he was drafted around where he was gonna go. I saw how he man handled Bulaga at the senior bowl, and was consistently double teamed, but still put up numbers. They kid looks really good, I expect him to play a ton next year. Heck, wouldn't surprise me to see him start after like 5 games.

I am happy they got the guy the targeted and didn't wait for scraps like Dunlap. So on the surface you can argue if Morgan was a better pick, but its debatable, I think the Eagles know more than we do, and I like the pick a lot.

But lets talk about value.

The number 13 pick was worth 960 points

We traded 24 (worth 670 points) , 70 (worth 235), 87 (worth 150). That's a total of 1055 points for a pick worth 960 points. We over paid by 95 points? Why did we overpay! was there a bidding war vs NY for the pick? How come we didn't get get a 4th, or a 5th and 7th in return?  I mean those 95 points equates to losing the 105 pick in the draft. That's a  4th rounder. Why didn't we just trade a 3rd and a 5th? Something just doesn't add up here. We over paid by  95 points. We basically could have demanded a 4th rounder and 13 in exchange for our picks but didn't. Very unlike our front office. I am upset, because we could have gotten this done with out using both 3rd rounders. Very poor job by Howie, especially seeing how most other teams payed value on their trades. In the worst case, we could have demanded a 5th or something in return. I just don't get it.
