The Linc - It's NFL draft eve
Philadelphia Eagles NFL Draft outlook anything but obvious | - lehighvalleylive.com
What the Philadelphia Eagles should do in the NFL draft seems pretty obvious: Get a safety to replace Brian Dawkins. Draft a pass-rushing, mobile linebacker or two. Trade up for a stud defensive end. Improve depth on both lines. What the Eagles will do, of course, isn’t obvious at all.
Donovan McNabb lobbying Washington Redskins to sign Terrell Owens: report
I would love this to happen. Seriously. I really want this to happen.
Secondary at heart of Eagles' rebuilding effort | APP.com | Asbury Park Press
Think back to 2002, when the Eagle used a first-round pick on cornerback Lito Sheppard, and a second-round pick on cornerback Sheldon Brown, thus securing the covermen their aggressive defensive scheme desperately needed. Eight years later, it's time to rebuild the secondary once again.
Jerry's concerned about division foes - NFC East Blog - ESPN
Speaking at a predraft news conference Tuesday, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones admitted to being concerned about all the moves the Eagles and Redskins have made this offseason.
Race factors into evaluation of Gerhart - NFL - Yahoo! Sports
"One team I interviewed with asked me about being a white running back," Gerhart says. "They asked if it made me feel entitled, or like I felt I was a poster child for white running backs. I said, ‘No, I’m just out there playing ball. I don’t think about that.’ I didn’t really know what to say."
Mark Eckel's Philadelphia Eagles NFL Draft Preview | Philly2Philly.com
The Eagles have enough ammunition to make several moves up in the first round of Thursday’s NFL Draft. They also have several holes to fill, primarily on the defensive side of the ball. So with five selections in the first 87 picks in the draft, do the Eagles go for quality, quantity, or a little bit of both?
HollisterFreelance.com | WEAVER: Garcia to Eagles? A good fit
"Of all the places, I'd love to see him go to the Eagles," Garcia's dad and Hall of Fame coach Bobby Garcia said. "They have the talent to go all the way, and if he can be a part of that, that would be great."
Eagles' draft preview: Defensive line - pressofAtlanticCity.com
They need a defensive end to take some pressure off Cole, who faces double-teams on almost every play. There is a lack of depth outside after trading Chris Clemons and releasing Darren Howard. Tapp, who was obtained from Seattle, should help. At tackle, there is a lack of reliable depth behind Bunkley and Patterson. Dixon was a surprise as a rookie free agent last season, but Laws has been disappointing.

I like Gerhart
He’s a heady, throwback kind of player who’ll be a fan-favorite. He reminds me of guys like Mike Alstott and Paul Hornung. He’s gritty.
If I were Gerhart and asked if I was trying to be a role-model for other white running backs, I would look around and then ask the guy “you mean there are others?”
Let the beasting begin.

Me and my brothers one time tried to think of other white RB's in the league
(staarters). Needless to say, can anyone name one?
The Eagles WILL redeem themselves in the '10-'11 season, with a win at SuperBowl 45 in Dallas!
Peyton Hillis (unless he's a FB), Brian Leonard

Peyton Hillis is an American football fullback for the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League
And Brian Leonard isn’t a starter.

This really disturbed me
getting a substantive answer out of Reid is about as likely as Donovan McNabb getting a standing ovation at the Linc this fall.
If Donny doesn’t get a standing o or at least some strong support when he visits I will be incredibly upset with the fans.
Of course I don’t agree with anything the guy says in the first article. Anyone know who Brad Wilson is? Seems like an idiot.

I think he should
Say what you want about Donnie Mac, but when the BEST QUARTERBACK IN FRANCHISE HISTORY comes back into town, especially in his first visit, i think you have to give the man respect.
It’s not like he asked to leave. The Eagles shipped him out. Also, one thing you can never say about McNabb is that he ever bad mouthed the organization.
If i wind up with tickets to that game i’m cheering him, not booing him. And then i subsequently hope Trent Cole takes his head off
Brent Celek>Keith Brooking
I hope the majority think like you
I cannot fathom how anyone could justify booing this man. It’s not like he pulled a TO and forced us to move him. If you don’t think he was the right guy for the job all these years, boo the FO, not McNabb.
Ditto on the Cole-train comment.
I swear if he gets majoryly booed, I might have to root against the Eagles that game… much as I hate to do it, I would feel these idiot fans we have deserve to be taught a lesson.

yeah... it'll just make the media write about idiot philly fans all the more
Brent Celek>Keith Brooking
That is so overblown
All fanbases have their fools, yet Philly gets a lot of press for it. Seems rather unfair that you are lumped in as a whole with a few fools, all told.
I know I wouldn’t wear my signed No. 5 jersey to that game. Well, maybe I would if I was looking for trouble.
Jerry Jones...LOL
I do have concern," said Jones. "They have improved and yes, I do have concerns. I don’t know if that means we haven’t done things or wouldn’t have done things that we have improved as well. But I certainly look with interest and I can’t tell you whether they’ve improved or not, but they sure have been moving around but I’m talking about at least Philadelphia and the Redskins.
“No where in your rambling incoherent response did you come close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. We are all dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points and may God have mercy on your soul.”
"EFF YOU, WE'RE WINNING ANYWAY!!!!!!" (Bye, Dawk)
Reporter: Jerry are you concerned about the season
JJ: Yes
Rep: Why
JJ: They’ve gotten better, well…no…I can’t tell you whether they’ve improved or not.
Rep: Who, Jerry?
JJ: At least Philadelphia and the Redskins
Rep: Knowing that they were going to be so active, do you think you would have done things differently?
JJ: I don’t know if that means we haven’t done things or wouldn’t have done things that we have improved as well
Rep: WHAT?!?!
"EFF YOU, WE'RE WINNING ANYWAY!!!!!!" (Bye, Dawk)
Perhaps...

Didn't know that.
Hm.

i dont think race is a factor
i think that being white might have helped him out. if he were black they would of been complaining on how hes too slow playing in a division with not great defense. but imo he was never a 1st round pick in my mind. a great second rounder tho
Anonymous AFC personnel expert is right
Gerhart is a white T.J. Duckett. 3rd rounder at best.
