Eagles Among Teams Interested in WR Washington
While they’ve already added pieces to their receiving corps this offseason (four-year veteran Hank Baskett returned to the team after a brief stint with the Colts and the young former Air Force lieutenant Chad Hall was also signed), it appears the Eagles are continuing to invest in the position. No serious contract talks have aroused as of yet, but the Baltimore Sun newspaper has reported and confirmed that Philadelphia is among several teams showing interest in free agent WR Kelley Washington, most recently of the Ravens.
Though he is 30 years old and has been a bit inconsistent over the past few years, Washington (pictured) has established a fine reputation as a special teams contributor, and remains capable of filling in as a starting receiver. In 2009, he played in all but one game for the Ravens, catching 34 passes for 431 yards and four touchdowns. Prior to that, he spent two years with the Patriots as a reserve wideout; Washington began his career with the Bengals and played for Cincinnati for four seasons. At 6-foot-3 and nearly 220 pounds, he would certainly give the Eagles’ offense a larger target in the receiving game if signed.
Listed as being a potentially good fit for the team and free agent acquisition back before the signing period even began, Washington is also reportedly drawing interest from the Seahawks, Bills, and Raiders. It has not been confirmed whether the veteran receiver has actually met with team officials or visited the NovaCare Complex in Philly, but it is certain they are investigating the possibility of adding him.

I like it a lot. He’s a great special teamer, and if he can somehow find his way into the end zone, he’s a great TD celebrator.
Red Zone
I dont know much about him but we could use another weapon inside the 20

We need a tall WR with experience, WITH HANDS for redzone and such.. And Baskett doesn’t count. I wouldn’t be against this signing.
The Eagles WILL redeem themselves in the '10-'11 season, with a win at SuperBowl 45 in Dallas!
If we can get him for a 6th I’d like it, but anything higher might not be worth it. I mean, we just got a potential Prowbowler at LB for a 5th, do we need a 4th string WR for anything lower?

He is a free agent. No need to trade picks.

If we do not draft a WR
okay but how much better is he than Baskett and he would need to learn the system.
More like a 4th
34 catches beats two years away from the game and whatever production Baskett can claim
Officially contributing to worldwide confusion since 1997
Yeah it’s amazing what players can do when given a chance to play. Hopefully the Eagles give guys like Cornelius Ingram and Martin Rucker a chance to play more this season obviously at this point they will be the 2 and 3 tight ends behind Celek but from what I’ve seen both are very athletic and could play some in the slot.
