2010 Philadelphia Eagles mock draft database

I've added a dozen or so fresh mocks to the database in the past few days. Our total is now around 50. The position breakdowns are as follows.

Safety - 20%
Corner - 27%
Linebacker - 16%
Defensive line - 18%
Offensive line - 16%
other - 4%

47% of the mocks have the Eagles looking for secondary help in the first round. After yesterday's trade for LB Ernie Sims, which probably would change some of the predictions about a LB in the first round, that number would likely go up. The most popular picks were CB Devin McCourty from Rutgers and S Taylor Mays from USC. The full database is after the jump.

Honestly I think most of those picks are just lazy mocking. You’ll notice that most people who do mocks simply shuffle around the same 32 players for the first round.

The other thing that I think people do is think… “I’ll stick Kyle Wilson here, because they need a corner, and Jimmy Clausen will go here because their QB sucks,” without actually going in order and thinking… “What player that’s still available is the best choice to make this team better?”

You’ve GOT to be kidding me. I’d be fine with taking a fourth or sixth, but #24 overall for Tim Tebow? Hell no. I bet in PFW’s draft, Eric Berry didn’t get drafted in the top hundred and Taylor Mays was the #1 overall.

Most of these Mocks are old

PFW has us taking Poncey now and most have moved away from the Eagles taking Taylor Mays, at least in the first round.

Is every "expert" stupid?

If we wanted a safety that couldn’t cover we would have kept Sean Jones or let Macho start. If they think even for a second our FO is stupid enough to take Mays they have to put down the pipe.

RIP Jim Johnson. You will truly be missed.

His talk on the pick is not-team specific though.. so here it is..

Graham is an intense competitor and despite his lack of ideal size he is a good all-around defensive end who will not only get to the quarterback but disrupt plays in the backfield. His motor can be infectious.
