Titans sign Witherspoon.
Will Witherspoon was just signed by the Titans to a 3 year deal worth 11 million dollars. I know a lot of you guys were upset by his release (me included), and some of you thought that we were just letting him test the FA before signing him again. This obviously is not the case. Do you guys think that he will be successful there? Should we have kept Witherspoon at the very least as a backup?
I think that we made a huge mistake in giving up Gibson, but I guess that will be determined. So sound off!

I do not think anyone knows
people get a lot of crap for dissing the decisions on the linebacking core… but given last years merry go round maybe the eagles are not so sure themselves
The Tits are a good spot for him.
If Spoon’s a WLB..unlike for many years being misused as a MLB, he could excel.

About 10 minutes ago, I was pondering my own existence. Then I decided that it didn't matter.

It sure seems we’re relying Big Stew being back in top shape…which makes me a bit nervous, but it’s STILL early in the offseason.

I don’t a lot of people remember that even if Stew has a setback that Gaither is also coming back and if Gaither gets hurt then they can either move Jordan to MIKE or go sign Trot or somebody else but I don’t think it will matter because from what I have read Stew is doing great in his rehab.
yeah, cuz that scenerio worked out sooooo well last year

We need to move on from Gibson
Come on guys. Gibson had a lot of potential but he’s just a late round pick who wouldn’t have seen the field with DJax/Maclin/Avant healthy. We had a HUGE need for LB at the time and traded for the Rams’ 2nd best defensive player.

So true. We were desperate for help at the time. They could have held us up for a lot more than Gibson. Too bad it didn’t work out better, but not every deal does.

Hey Guys...
….Just visiting your site from the Rams sight. The Witherspoon for Gibson traded also involved us getting your 5th round pick. As soon as Gibson came on board for us he became a very dependable reciever considering all our starters got hurt.
I was initially upset that we lost Witherspoon to you guys untl Gibson stepped in and started making plays. When I heard you guys cut ‘Spoon so fast, I was actually hoping we could bring him back to refill our open outside linebacker spot that we haven’t been able to fill since his departure. All I can say is best of look to W.W. in Tennessee. Always had respect for him and his game.
Gibsons the fucking man..
How about we orcastrate(spelling?) a trade that gives us Gibson back along with lets say a 6th and we give you Mike Vick???

Gibson's talented.
but once again you compare everyone to TO in his prime thus distorting your interpretation of what a good WR is.

You people
really overvalue Gibson. For the Rams last season he was borderline horrible. He reception percentage was barley 47%. He is what he is, and he NEVER would have cracked our lineup. We have our top 3 WR’s locked up for the next 5+ years.
Barley 49%*
But the point remains the same. He isn’t anything more than the late round pick that he was.
Yeah I really don't understand all the Gibson love
He’s got potential and I loved having him here for a while. But all the flashes of brilliance we saw from him were during the preseason.

Look this is why I think Witherspoon got cut.
(1) he’s older, we’re trying to get younger
(2) late in the year his production dropped
(3) I think they value Jordan a bit more than Spoon
(4) If he were a b/u he’d be a damn expensive one

More importantly
This means the Titans are officially done with Bulluck. I wonder where he goes. Not here I hope. He does and has done great things, but shit the Eagles started the youth movement, might as well keep it going.
Thanks for giving it a go Witherspoon. See you on the flip side.

It seems
to me that if we trade Gibson who would clearly give us the depth we need this year. For Spoon who clearly was not bad before we got him and isnt bad if he was signed less than 2 weeks after we let him go. That somewhere in there there is a mistake.
Look, trading for spoon happened out of necessity, we had to get a LB
he’s was most likely the best avalable, for a good value and we took it because we absolutely had to.
