Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

Trade that just went down. Foreal.

Well my best memory of Reggie Brown was when he threw his mouth guard at weaver to get is ass back at the line while he was running his mouth...other than that reggie brown you will not be missed...

Star-divide

Buccaneers acquired WR Reggie Brown from the Eagles in exchange for a sixth-round pick in the 2011 NFL Draft...

This was posted on adam schefter's twitter page...Trade not that big of a deal. but i was just simply dissapointed with reggie brown...

YEAHHHH OH WELL..............

So this is how it finally ends, a 2nd round pick being traded for a 6th or watever it may be. Well Desean and Maclin will make him easy 2 forget, then again so would most about any body playing receiver in the NFL. Naw but serious its 2 bad i always liked Reggie and we all know at one point it looked like he was gonna have a very promising career here, have 2 say my fav play of his was prolly that sick catch he made in buffalo in week 17 a couple years ago. That being said i still think he can contribute 2 a team and i wish him nothing but the best in Tampa Bay.

This is Karma

Draft mediocre QB in the 5th round… wins a few games… trade value rises

Trade said QB to a floundering team for a 2nd round pick – The only (and I mean only) thing he ever does as a Fin was beat the undefeated (at the time) Pats.

With 2nd round pick draft a receiver.

Star receiver goes nuts and 2nd round pick has one good season…. fast forward a couple of years… no production and a couple of million dollars later he is traded for a sixth round pick.

Serves us right i guess. AJ Feely was worth a sixth round pick after all.

"Seriously… F off." JasonB to a Denver fan after Dawk left.

I’m impressed we got some return and he’l be happy as well

I would have wanted to keep him around as a less expensive option at WR4 (well, less expensive than Curtis,) but whatever, never hurts to get a pick.

Dude

How many millions have we saved this year so far? Westy,Andrews,Spoon,Reggie. What the hell are we saving up for? Maybe something big? Maybe Jeff just wants to put some cash in his pocket b4 the possible strike?

nerver mind

Just seen Avants contract

by greenage on Mar 8, 2010 11:15 PM EST up reply actions

Avants contract isnt that big

Its a pretty decent contract for a 3rd string WR. The eagles have saved up a lot of money this offseason though. If there was a cap this year, we would most likely be top 5 with the amount we have to spend (not counting cap penalties that would have occured.)

by andyb on Mar 8, 2010 11:59 PM EST up reply actions

Taking on his contract was never the issue with trading Reggie. The issue was that if he was cut in 2008, he would’ve counted $8,177,415 against the cap. If he was cut last year, he would’ve counted $5,838,707 against the cap. This year, not only is his cap number even lower, there’s no cap to count against!

Still, it would be hard to get much more than we got for a guy they knew we didn’t plan on using.
