Around SBN: The Worst Team Ever Projected?

Per Adam Schefter and the magic of Twitter, Eagles WR Reggie Brown was traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a 6th round pick in next year's draft.

This was all made possible by the uncapped year. He would've cost the Eagles $3.5M against the cap if there was a salary cap this season. However, there is not and therefore we were able to move him.

The Bucs are actually getting a pretty sweet deal. The Eagles are responsible for the remaining portion of his pro-rated bonus. His base salary this year is $1,000,000. If the Bucs cut him, they're not responsible for it.

Hahaha, holy shit. It’s not even a sixth rounder this year. It’s a sixth rounder in NEXT year.

haha. i’m happy he’s gone and not taking up a roster spot/more $$, but does anyone else feel we could’ve gotten maybe a 5th? idk.. a 6th rounder next year…

Dag yo

You beat me by six minutes … but I’m operating on the theory that nobody reads fanshots and everyone reads fanposts.

I really had nothing to say about it … this would have been just fine.

Tampa Bay has Michael Clayton and Reggie Brown now … two of the worst receivers ever to go over 900(?) yards in a season.

Still waiting for the Eagles to Bring It Home For Jerome

Honestly, I think we give him a harder time than he deserves. He just got in the doghouse and couldn’t climb out. I wish the best for him in Tampa Bay (no state earned income tax, Reggie!). It is definitely better for him to be off this team and to get a fresh chance somewhere else.

He was a draft pick who, after multiple opportunities, never panned out.

Here I was hoping we would be lucky enough to get a bag of used footballs for him, and now in 2011, we’ll get a player, a real live player! Tampa sucks and that could easily be an early 6th round draft pick which would not be bad at all, given his contract and lack of talent on the football field.

Proudly supporting a Flyers team with "no honor".

Another bad contract off the books.

Honestly, I’m surprised we got ANYTHING for him. And I mean no offense to Reggie – He kept his mouth shut (for the most part) and played when called upon – just never lived up to his potential. Best of luck in Tampa, glad that contract is gone and the 6 next year is a nice bonus.

Can we cut Curtis now? I still think we probably will, but it’s not a no-brainer anymore.

I'm amazed too.

Considering we shopped him last year and couldn’t get any one to offer a single used sweat sock for the guy. Maybe we can do better with the pick than getting another underperformer like Jack IckyGuano. I think Jack was a 5th. He performed like a 7th.

A sixth is better than nothing, and Reggie’s contribution was pretty much nothing. I’d still like to see Curtis perform again, he had some great seasons, but that was long ago and far away. Reggie, he was never really much better than above average.

HEY!!

Saying Jack played like a 7th rounder is a slap in the face to 7th rounders. Now Moise Fokou is gonna fuck you up.

I dont know what it is about your face,

but I just wanna deliver one of these right in your suck hole.
