Donte Whitner?

There is a post on Pro Football Talk that the Bills are looking to get rid of Donte Whitner. He has had some problems in Buffalo and some off the field stuff, but playing in Buffalo can probably be a total drag. He ws a pro bowler and is only a 4year player. Seems like it might be a good fit. Maybe even a Mike Vick for Whitner swap?

but how does that happen. didn’t he get tendered by the Rams? I know we might be able to work out a trade but….thats not nothing.
He did get tendered..
But it was a low tender. Basically we can offer him a contract and the Rams have the option to match it. If they don’t match it, then we can sign him without giving up any picks to the Rams.

Have Kolb start with Vick in a more hands on roll oin the WildCat would be very nice in my opinion

Whitner is the best player on Buffalo's defense.
He would absolutely shine here I guarantee it.

i dont think hes the best player on their d .. Paul Posluszny is a nice lb .. he is better than anything we have here .. 111 tackles a sack and 3 ints .. and he missed 4 games

I don’t usually agree with you, but you’re right with this one. I think Whitner’s good (and I predicted a Vick + 3rd rounder for Whitner + 2011 3rd rounder on CanadianBill’s post from a few weeks back), but Posluszny is a damn good LB.

If we traded Vick for Whitner
we would have to include a draft pick. However if we trade Mcnabb for Whitner. We would receive a draft pick. Since The Eagles seem to be going for a youth movement right now, the last option seems to be the most viable. Except, they want at least a first for McNabb and the Bills need that first for a O line man. This trade won’t happen. Vick will still go there for a pick, but Whitner will not be included.
