Jaguars sign Kampman
Aaron Kampman signed a multiyear deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars late Saturday night, a league source told NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora. The Pro Bowl pass rusher, who was in Jacksonville for a free-agent visit on Saturday, will be announced at a team news conference on Sunday.
It was the second Pro Bowl free-agent deal negotiated by the Jaguars on Saturday, as the team also agreed to terms with special teams ace Kassim Osgood.
Well it seems Kampman is off the block....

Eh, we'll upgrade eventually, IDK if DE is really a need,
once our LB’s come back our pass rush should be good enough to help take pressure off cole.

Um our pass rush is always effective when
our LB’s are able to get pressure along w/ our DL, last year our LB’s could hardly walk in a straight line so bradley and co returning should give us a major boost.

who
who is co .. gocong .. worst lb ive seen here .. makes me want dhani jones back .. gaither .. horrible … jordan .. average at best .. bradley .. above average but coming off a major knee injury so i would say average .. spoon above average but got cut .. fokou .. athletic but raw .. not ready to play …. our lbs might be the worst in the nfl

Um, no, you seem to compare everyone to ray lewis during his prime..
I should’ve said Bradley, Jordan and co, as in whoever the SAM LB is and the backups.

yea
ray lewis was great .. urlacher was great .. bradley isnt on their levels .. so how can he be great .. theres a scale .. and if they are higher .. bradley can only be abover average or good .. hes unproven and coming off a major injury .. he was above average before it .. not even great .. and now u wanna say he is ?

Eagles trying to stay young?
it seemed the Eagles were willing to entertain a vet DE, but probably for a discount.
You have to wonder if Andy and his new contract makes him feel safe to go young this year to ensure viable players as we face a possible work stoppage in 2011.
He won’t have a bunch of cap money tied into old guys only getting older with a work stoppage. He might be banking on McNabb not returning in 2011 as well to avoid the same risk.
I just hope we get Kolb under a new contract…
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
We keep expecting the Eagles to do something HUGE…they never will…
What I don't understand....
….is if the Eagles are going to keep McNabb for one year to “Go For It All” why would you fill your holes with unproven Rookies? Wouldn’t going for it all entail filling your glaring needs with proven veterans and impact players? The way this team is currently constructed it is a far way away from being a SB contender, so why even keep McNabb? Or do you think the Eagles have diluted themselves to the point where they believe that Harris, Abiamiri, Gocong and our rag tag OL are all capable of being Pro Bowl caliber players?
Sigh
Face-palm
Go Birds….I guess…….
im not so sure were looking to be SB contenders next year, it almost seems
like Andy’s packing it all in and trying to win it 2-3 years from now, seems dumb but honestly w/ his lack of moves it seems that way.

wow
come on bro . this team is going to be competitive for the next 7 years atleast .. i would take that over a go for it now and then rebuild .. the eagles are a smart orginization .. they need to get a young lb and a saftey and we will be fine ..

no what i'm saying is were looking to compete but I think Andy's looking to take it all in
3 years, as to let our young talent mature.
Just saying that’s what it seems like. But we’ll definantly be there in jan.

We'll be competitive
But we were more than a few role players away from the SB last year. If we’re going to keep Mcnabb for one last run with him, you’d figure we’d sign the impact players and put all our chips in. But since that is not the case, what is the point of keeping Mcnabb? We’re losing on potentially a 1st/2nd round pick in this deep draft, for no reason.
I’m not on that panic boat, but if some bigger trades don’t happen, we’ll be a good team, but by no means SB contenders. Like if all we do is sign some decent LB’s to fight for a job, and fill our holes with rookies, then no we won’t be up there with Saints/Cowboys/Colts/Vikings (pending Favre).
At this point
It’s almost worth it to trade McNabb for whatever we can get.
Clearly this team will not win a Super Bowl next year (barring a string of amazing coincidences). And after that, McNabb will be gone; either retired or onto another team.
We’ve kind of painted ourselves into a corner on this one.
ugh... although I reeeeally wanted Kampman...
- the guy’s 30.
- he’s coming off a serious ACL tear
- he spent what he played of last season changing his position
- the Jags are now likely not going to draft a DE. This could posssssibly mean an even better talent could slip to us.
No better than 7-9 next year.
I guarantee it.
Wait and see.
no way
no way we go below .500 with our offense

joke? i hope so
To me the Eagles are like that girlfriend that pisses u off, then u hate her, but the next morning you wake up and remember that thing u love so much about her

No tears shed here especially his agent wouldn’t allow the Eagles to poke, prod, bend and pull on that ACL of his before making him an offer.

I have a man crush
For Stewart Bradley’s ugly ass. We don’t need Kampman, just someone to bolster the center of our defense.
But if we don’t make some moves at/before the draft, you can rest assured our Eagles will fall short….AGAIN
Whoever said it doesn't matter whether you win or lose, probably lost.
I'm very pleased...
…Eagles did not sign Kampman. Just don’t think he’s worth it.
