this is just another dissapointment. I really have no idea what is going to happen next. i really hope we step up and do something quickly.

this uncapped year has really fucked over the free agent market. the best ones have been tendered or are just restricted. Who the hell is left to pickup that will fill all our necessary holes?
i am in no way saying peppers rolle or rhodes would have done that, but to get or at least make a play for one of those safeties would have helped tremendously.
Basically, to me, this mirrors how the new F.O run by Howie Roseman is working. Nothing has happend yet. Except for trade rumors around our quarterbacks, this fucking sucks…

True..it has ONLY been the first couple of days....
but u gotta understand..We NEED serious help on defense at certain positions if we are gonna make a serious run for the Super Bowl this year. Especially since this could be McNabbs last horraah!! (if they choose to keep him this coming season). In these “only been the first couple of days” we have seen some GOOD defensive talent go away to other teams! Defensive talent that we COULD’VE really used to help us right now. Drafting is ok, but u can’t beat a talented seasoned Vet! I believe most people are frustrated due to the fact that there was indeed defensive TALENT to be gotten; knowing we need help, yet the Birds didnt budge! And now there are LIMITED players left to choose from, as the talent pool isn’t as good now.

i def agree with u that there was sum very good defensive talent we missed out on that might or might not hav been the answer 2 our defensive woes. However there is still sum decent quality players out there, take Otogwe for example or Kirk Morrison, either of these 2 would make me feel alot better, remember last year our biggest move with JPete didnt come right away. I just think people need 2 calm down and let the chips fall where they will, who really knows besides a couple people wat really is gonna happen with the QB situation???? We could still deal Donavan, or sum team may finally decide 2 pony up the 2nd round pick we want for Vick. As for Kolb i hope hes untouchable unless we were offered a 1st. Im gonna give Howie and the rest of FO the benefit of the doubt……..4 now!!!!!!!!! Now if another month goes by and we go into the draft expecting 2 fix the defense with draft picks then i will be upset.

Speaking of the Cards… did they take a beating this offseason or what? That team is probably going to really struggle to be .500 next year. They got hammered. Rolle, Dansby, Boldin, & of course Warner.

7th pick is a throwaway pick and it doesn’t appear that the 4th round pick is a conditional one that might improve with certain performance thresholds.
Rhodes is heads and tails better than the Demps/Harris combo the Eagles currently have.

When he’s motivated to play well he does it, but sometimes he goes soft on tackling or is practically a step behind the plays.
He got benched at one point 3/4 of the way through the season but then improved his play and won his job back.
Some people question his team spirit, but he did a better job at the end of the season and in the playoffs.
Is this what we’re going to do? Every time a team makes a move, we’re going to bitch that they did it and the Eagles didn’t? Because there’s 31 other teams. If there’s a trade, there’s a whopping 6.25% chance it involves us. If there’s a free agent signing, there’s a 3.125% chance it’s us. Cry more.

i think so many people are in panic mode because our biggest needs could have been addressed and weren’t. we needed a de and didn’t get peppers or vanden bosch. we needed a safety and didn’t get rolle. we needed a linebacker and didn’t get dansby. so, people are going to play the “oh, the eagles never sign anyone” game and panic.
the eagles best players almost always come through the draft and it’s been that way for the last 15 years (with t.o. and samuels being the exeptions). i’m expecting a trade or two to go down before preseason. plus, this draft is deep enough that we may get two or three players that can imediately make a difference.

Remember that everyone’s darling Rex Ryan saw fit to bench Kerry Rhodes this season. Now he’s suddenly a guy we need.

I’ll give you that he’s better than what we have… But it’s nonsense to say he has “pro bowl” talent. He’s average. I also wouldn’t say the Cardinals “stole” him by any means. I thought it was fair value. The guy was benched last year.
Plus, he’s mostly played strong safety.
The important question is whether he’s better than what we could get. There’s a number of safeties in this draft with a lot more upside than Rhodes. Hopefully we’ll be able to get our hands on one.
I honestly don't know why everyone is making a big deal about this. Its still early.
The best FS in FA is still available in Atogwe and he is only one year older than Rolle. And fuck a 92 mil contract for a 30 yr old DE. Sign Atogwe and Kampman and trade for a LB like Derrick Johnson or Kirk Morrison, perferably the former, and were back on track.

We need help everywhere on defense except D -Tackle.
Defensive End? Yep.
Linebacker? Yep. One injury from disaster again.
Safety—- IS a disaster, frankly. And even if we sign somebody, we have ZERO depth if that one signing gets hurt or is out a few games.
Corners— Sheldon can’t cover and Asante can’t tackle. Together they make one decent Pro-Bowler. Now maybe Sheldon’s inability to cover was due to his hammy… But he ain’t getting any younger.
The front office is not stupid, they have to know this… Maybe they trade Vick for help in some of those areas, because no way are we going to address ALL those needs in the draft.
