Witherspoon wasn't all that good for us. He had a couple of nice games here and there (but who didn't have a big game against the Redskin's offense?), but ultimately he couldnt play. And if you want to be a LB on our roster making 5 mil a year you better be able to produce --especially if you're on the wrong side of 30.
We're probably not going to get an old 3-4 OLB like Porter or trade a 1st round draft pick for a 3-4 OLB like Merriman.. So please, stop fantasizing about these madden esque possibilities. You know what the great thing about March 5th is?/ THere's about another month and a half of signings, trades, AND free agency (it doesn't last just one day).
Did anyone just see the contract we gave Weaver? That means we're probably not going to use a 1st round pick on an RB when we have two competent starters on the roster already. Actually, we're probably not going to use a 2nd or a 3rd on one either. And this may sound crazy but we're probably not going to pay an over the hill former big name back big bucks to carry the load 50 times a season. Maybe someone in the 4th round might be more realistic.
Peppers hosed the Bears. What was it 40 mil guaranteed? He's not even close to worth that much. I wanted Peppers too, but at the same time he's on the wrong side of 30 and he disappears for games at a time. We made him an offer, but we weren't willing to spend THAT much money on a guy who plays when he wants to. Remember he didn't do anything against us in week 1 except sack Kolb in garbage time.
Let's remember.. THE WHOLE OFF SEASON DOESN'T START AND END ON MARCH 5th. Not that hard to understand. The Eagles are ALWAYS active in the off season and they probably are making plans and figuring out scenarios 24/7. Now relax and enjoy the ride.
