The Real Value Of Mcnabb (Be Careful What You Wish For)

Mcnabb's true value

For the past few years most eagles fans have been, anti-mcnabb, and pro-kolb. And I shake my head. How can we treat the best QB in Eagles history like this. Like nothing. It's very likely that we won't get a QB this great for a very long time in this franchise. (IF we get one)

Great, you say? I know what you're thinking... How can HE, be great. Well let's take a look...

Team Records

-He is the Eagles' all-time leader in career wins, pass attempts, pass completions, passing yards, and passing touchdowns. (Aww that's nothing big, right?)

NFL Records

-Most consecutive pass completions, 24; vs New York Giants, Nov. 28, 2004; vs Green Bay Packers, Dec. 5, 2004 (You could do that in your sleep right?)

-Least-intercepted quarterback per pass attempt of all time, (4588 attempts-96 interceptions, 2.09%) That's better than PEYTON MANNING, TOM BRADY AND DREW BREES

-Second-best touchdown-to-interception ratio of all time, (209-96, 2.18) behind Tom Brady (217-92, 2.36)

-First NFL Quarterback ever to throw for more than 30 touchdowns and fewer than 10 interceptions (2004)

One of six quarterbacks of all time to have over 25,000 passing yards and 3,000 rushing yards (alongside Randall Cunningham, Steve Young, Fran Tarkenton, Steve McNair, and John Elway)  ( Your grandma could do that, right?)

Currently the third-highest winning percentage among active quarterbacks (83-45-1, .647) behind Peyton Manning (119-59-0, .669) and Tom Brady (88-25-0, .779)

I mean those records mean nothing, he still isn't great. Well atleast not good enough to start over an inexperienced guy who has good games against the teamsa like the Kansas City Chiefs who have about the worst D in the league by throwing short passes to Desean Jackson and letting him leave every defender in the dust. And oh yeah Andy Reid was running the ball that day. Maybe if we tried that with Mcnabb in the game we could've beat the cowboys. Look at the Saints, even THEY have a running game, WITH Drew Brees.

But what's that you say? Mcanbb's still the reason we lose our playoff games? And I shake my head again.

'10 vs. Cowboys

This was an all around lost. This was one that was lost from the coaching staff to the players.

'09 NFC Championship VS. Cardinals

Oh holdup, holdup, but Mcnabb lost this one for us, right?  Wrong. The halftime score was 24-6 (well thanks defense.) Well Mcnabb(the not so great quarterback) led the offense to what, around a 20-point comeback and took the lead. But what happened? The defense let the cardinals drive and score a gamewinnig touchdown(and extra point). And oh, that is sooo Mcnabb's fault. I mean, maybe he should've helpe score 35 offensive points instead of 25.

From my research and analysis, I hold Mcnabb acountable for only 1 loss of our numerous playoff appearances.

And that's our Superbowl loss in 2004 against the Patriots...

But will that change Eagles fans minds... nope. The only way is by improving our team, and winning a Superbowl next year. (Which wont happen with Kevin Kolb.)
