Cole is the starter at C
Nick Cole is going to be the starter at C next year from what a couple of reports have said and that is why the Eagles are really interested in the RG position because they MJG likely won’t be back and how knows what the Eagles get out of Andrews.
Granted Cole had a really limited audition at C (10 quarters) but he was lousy. Better upgrade at the RG position or hard to see this OL being much better than it was last year. Good line when it comes to pass protection most of the time but a mediocre RB line that fails in most short-yardage situations.
A couple things I think mitigate Cole’s performance at C. First, he had been playing RG all season, so he basically had to switch positions, rather than transition from backup to starter, when Jackson went down. Secondly, his move from RG meant that MJG — a horrible pass blocker — was now the RG. Those things, plus one of the best interior pass rushers in the NFL, is not a pretty combination. I think Cole can do an OK job if he’s given time to concentrate on being a center, and has better help at RG. The caveat there is that his upside is extremely limited — if he was a better center than JJ, he probably would have been starting already.
When I have time, I would be curious to look back to see the offense’s production by week and see just how more productive they were during that stretch when Peters-Herremans-Jackson-Cole-Justice finally got a chance to start a couple of games consecutively.
If they can get an upgrade at RG, there line is likely improved. If not, hard to see a combo of Cole-Andrews really bringing much to table.
Cole will be fine at center. Centers get better the more reps they get. Cole has the
physical ability. RG is the spot that needs a dominant player.

Cole and Jordan...
Two very worthy pawns in this 53-man chess set.

Must be pretty sweet to be Nick Cole. The dude is a really backup and that’s it really. But he’s going to be in starting lineup two straight seasons due to all the injuries (and stupidity on behave of Shawn) between center and right guard.
RIP Jim Johnson, best ever.
McNabb's Chamionship game and Super Bowl career: 129/225, 57.3 completion percentage, 1426 yards, 6.3 YPA, 9 touchdowns, 9 interceptions, 72.9 QB rating, 1-5
i´m really concerned about the center position! will jackson be ready in week 1? does someone think the eagles might take a center in round 1 or 2 in the draft?
Naw
with a full offseason and training camp to practice playing C, he’ll be fine.
i doubt that jackson will be back before week one.
somewhere between week 3 – 7.. but it won’t be the first game of the season. that being said, i believe nick cole will be just fine, as team serbia just stated.
The Eagles WILL redeem themselves in the '10-'11 season, with a win at SuperBowl 45 in Dallas!
Week 3-7
is veryyyyy hopeful. He was injured in week 16, and it usually takes a minimum of around a year to get back to some kind of normal level.

Well, I'll try and keep it very hopeful.
I have faith in Nick Cole though, he should be a decent starter at C.

GOod.
Nick Cole is the porkiest of porkers in the NFL. Its a treasure watching him play football.
Specially since the Eagles run a lot of screen passes with Cole waddling out front
