Around SBN: MLB Trade Deadline: Where each team stands right now

Next week during spring break, I have two workouts, one with the New England Patriots and one with the Philadelphia Eagles. During these workouts, I just have to show these teams why I am the best defensive end/outside linebacker fit for their squad! I plan on doing just that!

Well

At least he’s enthusiastic.

"That's what I love so much about this team. We have some warriors here. We have some guys who go out there and fight. That's the best thing about this team. No matter what happens, we just keep fighting. You have to love that."

The Eagles FO must have invented some sort of a medical device that completely heals the ACL

And now we’re on a mission to revive the careers of every athlete who has torn their ACL. That’s the only possible logical explanation behind our fascination with torn ACLs.

IF

The eagles sign all the players who tear an acl all of which are potential top tier players and a portion of them pan out then it is well worth it as long as the birds don’t bank their season on them!!!!! I like who they have looked at!

Have

any of our groin injured players torn an ACL??? I think that’s the treatment, give them grown injury to prevent future ACL tears.

Looks like my girlfriend isn’t tearing any ACLs soon…

HMMMM

I know NOTHING about this guy. Was he any good b4 the ACL tear? Kinda like Ingram?

by greenage on Mar 14, 2010 9:15 PM EDT reply actions

acl tear was in '08, november..

his stats this year ….8.5 TFL and 4 sacks in 10 games
his ’08 stats….. 9.5 TFL and 2.5 sacks…

he’s 6’4 252 and would be an awesome 2nd round pick, where he’s supposed to go. I’d be pretty damn happy to get him.

"Eagles fans are a passionate group who love their team," said McNabb, "if not the actual players. It's not like winning a Super Bowl before the first month of the season is the hardest thing they've ever asked of me. That'd be all those times they asked me to go kill myself."

well

sounds like a good pick up to me, I would love to get a guy like that in the 2nd

I actually am a big fan of Sapp

But in my opinion, he is no DE in the NFL…period. Which makes me kind of scared because I don’t know how he would fair if asked to be a full time LB. He showed he can still be effective coming off the ACL tear (especially since it wasn’t a full tear) and I have no question on his motor, just how would he fair if asked to read and react rather than go on the snap…as well as attack in space.

i know this may be a little late,

but, what happened to fargas? did he fail a physical or just not get a deal done.. as far as we know?

The Eagles WILL redeem themselves in the '10-'11 season, with a win at SuperBowl 45 in Dallas!

Don't see how the Birds will touch Sapp

Unless we trade down out of the first, or somehow trade up in the 2nd (24th overall seems kind of stretch for him)

He should be long gone by our current pick in the 2nd

Dammit

The Eagles run a 4-3. Why the hell are they so enamored with these DE/LB tweeners? Either get a NG and run the 3-4 or quit fucking around with these guys who are too slow to play SAM and too small to play LDE.

by Tracer Bullet on Mar 15, 2010 12:47 PM EDT reply actions

He isn’t to slow to play SAM. But unfortunately, that’s all I can see him playing. His rushing style doesn’t translate well to the NFL so he might have to play full time SAM or ILB in a 3-4 because I just don’t see him rushing in the NFL. His problem is he is bad against the run though because he doesn’t have the bulk to get off blocks that well against the run. So…my jury is out on him in our 4-3 system.
