Does he play special teams?

I’m assuming he’d be taking Eldra’s role, but to a higher level. Basically be a realiable banger for short yardage (allowing weaver to lead block) and maybe to help closeout games when we’re ahead.

Overall though unless McNabb is leaving and we’re going to be rushing more… unless he can contribute on special teams as well, I’m just not very interested in his skills.

what does McNabb leaving

have to do with rushing more

Let's get it Birds.

One can hope

Andy might protect his young guy by running more…

I know I’m dreaming, lol

by Smallbugger on Mar 12, 2010 2:41 PM EST up reply actions

yep, you're dreaming.

The Eagles WILL redeem themselves in the '10-'11 season, with a win at SuperBowl 45 in Dallas!

by antoniak on Mar 12, 2010 5:19 PM EST up reply actions

Why taking Eldra's role?

Eldra would be in the same role, McCoy would be the 1 and Fargas the 2.

Seems like he’d be splitting touches with McCoy (I’m reluctant to use the phrase “taking Westbrook’s role”)

Maybe there are still some medical issues? He did fail the Raiders physical, after all.

by Bob_Q on Mar 12, 2010 2:29 PM EST reply actions

He did fail the Raiders physical

Oof, didn’t realize that. The Eagles will definitely make him take a physical before they offer him a contract though.

by JimmyK on Mar 12, 2010 2:35 PM EST up reply actions

IIRC the Raiders say he failed, he says he didn’t, but whatever. The one that counts is the Eagles physical.

by EANX33 on Mar 12, 2010 2:40 PM EST up reply actions

he said he failed the end of year physical because of his bruised knee but passed the physical they gave him this off season and they told him he was being released for money reasons. Seems a little fuzzy as to who is saying what.

Ah ok

The Raiders are such a dysfunctional organization, it’s no wonder that this issue with Fargas’s release is so unclear. I’m with EANX33 on this one, the one that counts is the Eagles physical.

by Bob_Q on Mar 12, 2010 3:11 PM EST up reply actions

in his interview...

he said he took a physical for the Eagles…

"Eagles fans are a passionate group who love their team," said McNabb, "if not the actual players. It's not like winning a Super Bowl before the first month of the season is the hardest thing they've ever asked of me. That'd be all those times they asked me to go kill myself."

by greenbean#twoOH on Mar 12, 2010 6:01 PM EST up reply actions

I watched the press conference, he said everything you would expect a player trying to get a job to say. He can tell the Eagles run a high class organization and he would love to play with pro bowl QB and FB. Blah blah blah.

I think fargas could be a good runner for this team. he was splitting time with one or two other running backs on a terrible team with a bad O line, no QB and no WRs. He was a 1000 yrd rusher on said bad team 2 seasons ago, so let’s give him a shot.

Chase Utley is so good that on one pitch he stole second, third and the shortstop's hat.

fargas

fargas will get just as many carries as mccoy .. hes not buckley .. hes a legit nfl back .. something buckley is not

He might get as many carries but he won’t get as many touches.

Whenever a new player is getting some attention, it’s always fun to predict… “Will JIBTA like him or not?”

I got this one right. Yay!

by JimmyK on Mar 12, 2010 3:00 PM EST up reply actions

if they are mediocre or have an outlandish personality JIBTA will like them … if they are white or have a majority following he will not like them.

Wait, does he not know that Fargas is white?

Fargas isn’t completely white he’s Huggy Bears son.

True, but...

In the Dave Chappelle Race Draft the whites selected Justin Fargas in the 134th round.

by JimmyK on Mar 12, 2010 3:44 PM EST up reply actions

hey hey

he had dreads before so hes ok with me ,, if he can grow them back i would sign him tommorow lol

1/8th rule?

or one drop rule?

"Eagles fans are a passionate group who love their team," said McNabb, "if not the actual players. It's not like winning a Super Bowl before the first month of the season is the hardest thing they've ever asked of me. That'd be all those times they asked me to go kill myself."

by greenbean#twoOH on Mar 12, 2010 6:02 PM EST up reply actions

I actually think this is possible.
fargas will get just as many carries as mccoy

LOL @ the “Will JIBTA like him” string.

Speaking for the fellow mixed folks, it’s always one drop. Or at least, I’ve never received official notification of that rule’s repeal.

LOL I love how much he’s openly bashing the Raiders in almost every statement he makes.

by fhqwagads on Mar 12, 2010 3:30 PM EST reply actions

Ok he wants to play for the eagles pretty bad so that means that they could lock him up for a pretty good price I say sign him…

but the eagles want a physical first

To me the Eagles are like that girlfriend that pisses u off, then u hate her, but the next morning you wake up and remember that thing u love so much about her

Fargas would give us

the tough, hard hittin attitude we need on offense. I have good friends who are Raiders fans and I blasted them every week about Huggie Bear but when I watched him, he gave his all EVERY play and always got the tough yards. Perfect back to fix our ‘3rd & short’ woes

by PhillyTilly on Mar 12, 2010 3:57 PM EST via mobile reply actions

He’s pretty freaking fast, apparently.

The Raiders took note of Fargas at the scouting combine when he posted a 4.32 second 40-yard dash time on what was described as a slow track.

Just remember

No matter what happens to the Eagles, at least you are not a Michigan fan. It’s not fun

GO CUSE, BLUE, AND EAGLES!
