Shady will be offensive MVP
I see alot of people doubting that this guy will be "an every down back" or that he has "alot left to prove." The latter is of course true, but he's shown me enough already (college included) to be extremely confident in what he will do with full-time duty. Here's my prediction - 1600 total yards and 14 TDs. I'm particularly confident in his high touchdown count; he's shown a great nose for the endzone in both college and the pros. Remember the 2-point conversion play? He showed glimpses throughout the year of what he will do in his second year.
He's also been extremely durable, he got a ton of touches in college and didn't get banged up last year either. He's a bigger dude than Westbrook and he's been one of the best players on the field since he's played the game. I think Desean will still be a greater player next year, but I don't know if he will get enough touches to out-perform shady next year. Maclin could be really good next year too, but again I doubt he gets an adequate number of passes in his direction to out-perform the guy who is our primary halfback.
This kid can break tackles, block with good technique when he makes the correct read on a blitz, catch out of the backfield, and he's got great burst and balance. Did I mention he's great at finding the goal-line?
He will be aided by an offense that stretches the field with speed and occasionally draws him up plays where he will get the ball in open space. Hopefully our screen game can be a force again next year. McCoy is going to light it up.
***EDIT*** I meant team offensive MVP and I meant 1600 rushing + recieving

1600????????????????????
Wow man i love the confidence in Shady but cmon man seriously?? 1600 yards?? Unless he averages 8.0 yards per carry i dont see how thats possible, on the other hand i can DEFINITELY see 14 tds all-around however with receiving and rushing combined. Oh one other thing i was thinking, i dont want 2 jinx Shady or anything but theres a BIG difference in being durable in college and then in the NFL, your body takes way more abuse in the pro game obviously and Shady was pretty durable last year but it was only one year, hopefully he can stay healthy.

1600
Is a big number but it’s not too far of a strech, think about it that’s 900 rushing and 700 receiving, It’s all going to revolve around how we run our offence if we get back to our screen game and get him in the flat a few times a game with room in front of him it will happen

HAHAHAAHAHA OK MY BAD..............
Alright im a jackass, i thought he meant 1600 yds rushing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL, hahahah imagine that , a Andy Reid back getting 1600 yds rushing, i dont even Jim Brown could get 1600 yds rushing in our offense. But ok for Shadys combined yards i can see 1600 total if he stays healthy and yeah u hit the nail on the head the key is the screen game.

Offensive MVP
That’s a streach

he's our starting tail-back
he’s going to play a big part this year, it’s a stretch but not a big one.

Way over. 12-15 is more realistic.
...But if he pulls the rug on his quarterback, Reid must do it knowing that he let McNabb down more than McNabb ever let him down.

yeah he swings the ball when he runs.
I neglectedto mention that in the post, but I agree ball security is his biggest issue right now.

Our RB coach knows how to correct the way he carries.

love the enthusiasm
Pretty high expectations, though.
I might be easier to convince of this if Shawn is back for real this season. He’s a pain in the ass but the guy can block.
yeah I thought of talking about the offensive line but It really reuqires its own post
If shawn is back I think he’ll need half the season just to get back into the flow of things, but eah he’d be a big boost to the running game.

It’s possible but you have to remember that Weaver is going to get a lot of touches and depending on who we bring in to be Shady’s backup will take some touches away as well.
Weaver might get 4 to 5 touches a game
and even that is a strecth. i’d say more likely, 6 to 7 touches every 2 games. Whoever we bring in to spell McCoy will get 2 to 3 touches a game unless McCoy is struggling hardcore or we are kicking ass, which I’d be all for.

No way.
What’s he going to do, average 8 yards a carry? Oh I get it, you think he’s going to get 250+ carries. Hahahahahahaha good one. A running back getting 250+ carries in the Eagles offense.. ha ha hahaha ha hahahaha
Okay hold on let me collect myself. Let’s say he WERE to carry the ball two hundred and fffffahahahahahaha I’m sorry I’m sorry I just can’t say it with a straight face.
Get ready for 15 carries a game from McCoy, 8 from RB #2, and 4 from Weaver, just like every year.
1600 Total Yards
as in rushing and recieving….
HAHAHAHAHADFDFDFFFFFFFF

Shady will never get enough carries this year to get that many yards
he will be lucky if he gets 1000 yards. not because he isn’t good enough but because as we speak we have no idea who our starting 5 offensive lineman are
Let's get it Birds.

oh well
yeah that is very possible but the TDs I don’t think will even bee in the 10s. Westbrooks best year was 14

We’d have to actually RUN the ball for Shady to get 1600 yds…
…And Fat People don’t like to Run even though they should.

Outside chance on the yds although I think it will be much closer to 1400 yrds. As for 14 TDs, no shot. Happy if he socres 6-7 TDs next year.
Over / under
TD
I’m setting at 10.5

It’s alot to ask for more in his 2nd year, and unlike Westbrook, he is not our only weapon. he’s got to share with Maclin and jackson and celek.

Man
He could go 1600 Running and Reicving yards combined. I could see that happen. 14 TD’s Though. eeemmmmm……It could happen . I dont think it will. But it could.
agreed
I went a little on the high end, but I don’t think either number is unattainable. a few multi-td games and he’ll be well on his way.

McCoy will be fine,
I bet now that he know’s hes the man here he’s gonna start tearing shit up.
thats Cobb on Kolb crime if you ask me... as said by yophillybro
"I'm trading Kolb to Buffalo for Cribbs"- the brilliant Trade Kolb
Really crazy numbers
But, he DOES have a nack for scoring TD’s near the goal line. That 2-Point conversion was a thing of beauty.
I see him scoring a lot, and 1000+ yards rushing. I’ll end it there.
how is it crazy then? 1000 yards rushing and I said 1600 totaly yards...
a few hundred receiving yards and I mentioned the screen game needs to be a force again, he could come close.

Brent Celek for MVP
He’ll sneak up in the TD count at the end of the year, when every other team is focusing on the other offensive weapons. Besides, he’s just a beast, you need at least three guys to tackle him. Remember that game against the Bucs…when he hurdled Ronde Barber?!! Freaking beast.
Brent Celek > Chuck Norris
Really?
Lesean Mccoy to have 1600 yards? I think you guys are a bit too optimistic. 800 yards rushing, 400 yards receiving, and I think that is his upper bound.
disagree
