RB Justin Fargas to visit Eagles tommorrow

The Eagles have confirmed that former Raiders RB Justin Fargas will visit Philadelphia tomorrow. Fargas is bigger, physical back who has been known as a contact type runner. Not exactly the kind of guy the Eagles have always been after...

There have been some conflicting reports about Fargas' injury status.

Fargas was scheduled to be a restricted free agent but was not offered a tender by the Raiders. Reports indicated that the Raiders said Fargas failed a physical, but Fargas has refuted that claim, and said that he is "ready to play football today," according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

So he may or not be hurt? Meh, it's not like an injury would prevent the Eagles from signing him anyway! ZING!

Also, Hank Baskett is coming back for a visit.

Well, ain’t that interesting…

What the heck happened to those Mike Bell rumors. I’d much rather have him playing here.

If Hank is back does that mean his idiot is back too?

I'd rather be an Eagles fan till the day i die and go 0-16 every year than be a cockroach cowboys fan

She could probably be more productive on the football field than Hank.

I wouldn’t mind Fargas, I think he can complement Shady well. But I don’t want to see the Eagles ride a different RB every time one player seems to look better. Like, I dont want McCoy to have one bad game, an the birds run Fargas 20 times for the next three weeks, stunting Shadys growth.

I don't understand what your saying

we would never run it 20 times in one game

Let's get it Birds.

We rushed it 20 or more times in a game 13 times last year and went 11-2 when that happened. The two games we lost were against the Saints and the first Dallas game.

by antoniak on Mar 11, 2010 10:22 PM EST up reply actions

It’s hard to tell sometimes because I know some people that actually believe we don’t run it even 10-15 times on a regular basis.

by The Legend on Mar 12, 2010 12:48 AM EST up reply actions

yeah i know..

we run the ball some, just not as much as alot of other teams. i’d actually like to know who ran the ball less than us last year..

Huggie Bear's Kid can play

Yes, Justin Fargas is the son of TV’s Huggie Bear. He runs a quick 4.4 forty, and runs low to the ground. I think he will compliment McCoy nicely assuming he healthy.

Hank Baskett is only coming to the team because Andy Reid felt bad for him. Hank thought he was going to enter in Indy and steal the show.

by South Jersey Wedding Photographer on Mar 11, 2010 7:21 PM EST reply actions

Westbrook might sit for a while

Yes we all want weabrook back but let’s face it RT36 has been demolished in PHILLY damn shame… Wit fargas n lesean with both healthy were good… Hank need to shit down with his wife n chill out we need a WR a football player not some pre maddonna

by antoniak on Mar 12, 2010 9:38 AM EST up reply actions

I kind of like Fargas

On the down side he is 30, apparently failed a physical with the Raiders, and averaged less than 4 yards a carry the past two seasons. Still, he may be effective in a mix with Weaver and McCoy, especially seeing how much the Eagles run the ball. Could be the second coming of Dorsey Levens – nice contributor as part of a RB rotation. Though, would that be the end of the Martell Mallett era?

I have no problem with bring back Hank Baskett. He has size and can play special teams. He’d be a good pickup for the Eagles since they need a 4th WR.

Id welcome Baskett back, as long as he’s not on the kick off team when we make the Super bowl.

Hank baskett Todd pinkston James thrash can’t forget bout good ol FREDDIE MITCHELL funny him and baskett had the same # 84….but fargas will do us well n n the the blackout jerseys we good let’s pray it don’t bite us in our behinds

by Jahsavi on Mar 11, 2010 8:36 PM EST via mobile reply actions

Nothing wrong with Hank Baskett, guys. Not like he’s going to be our 4th or 5th receiver. How good do you guys expect a 4th or 5th receiver to be? I don’t think he’s that bad.

Anyway, I hope they don’t bring in Fargas. Much rather draft someone.

Scott Farkas???

He has green teeth and yellow eyes. So help me God! Yellow eyes!

Oh wait, that’s Justin Fargas…. never mind. Another injured pick up? Aww c’mon, we are going to have to the change our goal from the NFC Championship to the ACL Championship if this keeps up.

But let’s talk about Mr. Baskett for a moment. He has one catch, the fade. He did it twice in what, six hundred seasons? At least he can be clutch. And at least he’d be better than Reggie Brown. Truthfully, Hank isn’t all that bad.

Welcome back, Hank. (maybe.) Go get ’em Tiger!

Fargas

He would bring size to the position and would leave buckley to battle with mallet for the last spot. Let Hank walk, there’s better talent out there.

Feel free to reference away! He’ll just whine a little and move on to making stuff up.

i was telling someone the other day that i would love to have fargas here.

fuck yeah!!! this guy is cheap. he gives 100% every time he touches the ball. he broke 1000 yards a couple of years ago on blood and guts alone. i like him better than mcfadden or bush.

As long as he is healthy

Bring him in. he di8d very weel behind a terrible O line and would be a good enough fit for us. He is an above average receiver, hits the holr hard, and fights for his yardage. Like evreything about this.

Baskett is whatever. If we grab him fine, if not fine.
