Why was mornhinweg watching a QB workout?- Rotoworld.com
To add to the McNabb/Kolb/Vick rummors....
Two NFL teams reportedly left the Fordham Pro Day Tuesday with a third-round grade on QB John Skelton.
Skelton showed improved accuracy and his typically powerful arm during an impressive workout. The four-year starter appears to be making a strong case to be one of the first four or five QBs drafted in April. According to NFL.com's Gil Brandt, Eagles OC Marty Mornhinweg, Bengals QBs coach Ken Zampese, and Bills QBs coach George Cortez were among those on hand.
I think this is a sign that Kolb may be traded, before everyone jumps on me I know it's just a workout. But only 3 coaches were named and just so happens our O cordinator who seems to be swimming in QB's is one of them. Maybe the Birds are still on the prowl...
This kid is huge by the way, 6'5, 258, he's a big ass ginger!

I just figure if we trade a young QB and keep a vet we would bring this guy to bring up the ranks for when McNabb retires
bring Dawk & Westy home
No matter who we trade
We would draft a new developmental QB to be our 3rd QB
If we traded McNabb & Vick… then we’d probably draft a young guy as a 3 and a Vet as the 2
Yea but if we go Kolb
I doubt we draft a QB in the first 3 rounds since he will be a backup to Kolb for the next 5-7+ years…
Assuming Kolb pans out. I’ve been saying for a while I think the Eagles could draft a QB high, even if they keep McNabb, Kolb, AND Vick.
I am the people's troll :3™
There are a lot of Mid-range QBs in this draft
Some of the top names are going to drop father than their grade, Eagles are probably hoping he drops to the 4th or later
McNabb
will retire in T minus 2 years. No way we hand the keys to this guy in 2 season. This is a sign McNabb is gone “in my opinion”. But maybe you are right. Good find.
why kolb???
because reid is a fool!!!!!

this is a sign
that when we lose McNabb, we will bring in some young depth. Non-story here. But I do really like Skelton.

Yeah, me too
Reminds me of a beefier Joe Flacco, lol. I wouldn’t be so worried that he was gonna break when he gets tackled, he’s built like Roethlisberger.

"I'm trading Kolb to Buffalo for Cribbs"- the brilliant Trade Kolb
It’s not really a sign of anything other than that the Eagles are constantly evaluating players around the country.
I remember reading in the Fordham school newspaper that the Eagles were scouting this guy back in October. They’ve been following him for a while. They follow lots of players.
We did the same thing with Kolb...
except we starting scouting Kolb in his freshman year I believe. I could see Skelton getting picked in the 4th. Seems like a really good backup.
Here's hoping for a better 2010...

What?
Do you like do this for a living or something? Good insight.
Just because they brought Adam DiMichelle in for camp didn’t mean they were planning on keeping him and if Marty wasn’t constantly evaluating his options at all key postions, even in the draft,he wouldn’ be doing his job correctly.
Plus, if they want to even consider a QB trade, they had BETTER be thinking about back-filling slot 3. Or 2. Or whatever. So this could mean anything, or nothing, just like all the rumors that the Eagles will be trading Kolb, McNabb and Vick as a package to the CFL in the next five minutes.
I don’t think this is a sign of either QB just a sign that a QB will be gone and pretty much everyone knows that they will take a QB in the draft
exactly
most of us dont think vick will be back, which leaves us with 2 qbs, so were def gonna draft 1

One QB that I really like is..
that Jarrett Brown from West Virginia. The kids got good mechanics and a good arm, but is very raw. A good young developmental project would be a perfect fit to play behind Kolb.
I don't know what it is about your face,
[holds up fist]
but I just wanna deliver one of these right in your suck hole.
If anything, I think this is an indication that Vick is gone
McNabb’s done next year anyway. Better have a QB with some experience in the fold, rather than jumping out and drafting a rookie backup next season.
But agreed: non-story
This reason why I think Kolb is being speculated to be traded
is because if we trade Mcnabb, we’re expecting Kolb to be our guy for the next 5-7+ years. Why spend a 1st/2nd/3rd round pick on a QB who will ride the bench for practically his career? Drafting a QB high now may indicate that we’ll trade Kolb, and keep Mcnabb for 2-3 more years so that our new guy get be trained. All speculation obviously, and I still believe Kolb is untouchable barring 2+ first round picks.
I go to Fordham U, so this is my shit right here...
Ok so, Skelton holds all of our school passing records. He has good pocket presence, uses his size and agility to evade tacklers (but he doesn’t ever scramble, 4.7-4.8 speed I think)
Solid spiral, has a massive arm. Maybe not as powerful as Jamarcus, but it’s a rocket nonetheless. He’s the only reason we won any games at all this year, because our defense was abysmal, our running game was lacking, and our receiving corps was dreadful. I swear, I saw six easy drops in one game this year.
I know I’m a little biased, but due to his size, strength, and good decision-making, I’d love to draft him for depth if/when we trade one of our current QBs.
About 10 minutes ago, I was pondering my own existence. Then I decided that it didn't matter.
I’m trying to decide between Fordham and St Johns next year… I’m going to transfer to one of their business schools. Do you have any experience with the Fordham business school?
I assume you mean a graduate program...
in which case, not really. I’m only an undergrad in the liberal arts school. I wish I could be more helpful to you.

BTW I like the kids name, he sounds like a badass...
I can see him coming in to backup Kolb bud I dont think its a sign of anything it seems like he’s a later pick, we like value picks and 1 of our QB’s are going to be traded so why not add another one through the draft?

I know two brothers named Sakkos
And since they’re both something like 6’6", if they had trained to play defensive line they would have gotten lots of sackos, but they decided to study engineering instead.
haha

Let's not read into this...
Mornhinwig is going through his due diligence.
You know, I'm beginning to suspect
this might be due diligence.
Due diligence is what it is
If my mother put on a helmet and shoulder pads and a uniform that wasn't the same as the one I was wearing, I'd run over her if she was in my way. And I love my mother. - Bo Jackson
I wonder if this is simply a case of
due diligence
About 10 minutes ago, I was pondering my own existence. Then I decided that it didn't matter.
Andy Reid didn't want Mornhinwig
in his office for a while so he sent him out with the scouts, wishing that maybe he would not come back.
I've confirmed it
it’s due diligence
My "t" and "y" buttons are messed up so don't bitch at me about misspelling, I'm just saying.

I need to know if it was due diligence.

In all seriousness,
This is just routine. No matter how many players you have at a position, you scout everyone just so you’re prepared for any curveball that may come draft day.

Kolb is the Unknown. I mean yes we see something. Something like AJ Feeley.
We ripped the Dolphins off for what became Reggie Brown, a starter. I say we do it again with Kolb and watch him struggle in the Red Zone with those picks on somebody else’s team.
