The Linc - McNabb, Savage, Jauron, & Umenyoria
McNabb hopes Vick gets a chance to be a starter | Philadelphia Inquirer | 02/04/2010
"I don’t know what particular team," McNabb said. "I just hope he has an opportunity to be a starter for another team. I think he definitely deserves that and he has done a great job of getting himself together and preparing himself for this opportunity and I think he is going to flourish in it."
Osi: "I'm not going to be a back up" - Big Blue View
"I’m not going to be a back up player, I can promise you that," Umenyiora said. "I’ll stop playing football before I do that ever again. This has been just the worst offseason of my entire life. I can’t even think of a time when things were this bad during the offseason. You’re supposed to be relaxing, but I can’t relax because all I can think of is the things that took place last season, you understand? So for me it’s not something that I’m going to do. If I’m asked to come back there and do that then I’ll just stop playing football."
Eagles Notes: Jauron says he's happy with Eagles job | Philadelphia Inquirer | 02/04/2010
"I was flattered when Andy called about this job and I couldn't resist taking it. I love working with the secondary and I look forward to learning from Sean [McDermott] and this scheme."
Eagles hire Savage as consultant - NFC East Blog - ESPN
"This is a great opportunity for me to get back in the NFL. I’m really excited about the role the Eagles have afforded me and I’m ready to help Howie and the rest of their scouting staff in the best way I possibly can." - Phil Savage

As you are having
alot of fun over Osi’s comments I will make one comment about McNabb’s comments on Vick.
I hope he gets to be a starter on another team. What’s the problem Donovan? Do you think Vick would beat you in a training camp contest and therefore you want him traded before you lose your job!
Yes the Eagles have got younger and better – but untill you replace McNabb you will not win the big one as McNabb’s record in big games is downright poor. Looking at his record in SB and Conference games he is 1-5 and even the win was over the Falcons when your defence did a number on Vick so McNabb did not need to win you the game.

about 65% of us agree that it's time to turn the page on McNabb
and we’re not “having fun” with Osi’s comments but it’s definitely nice to know what’s going on behind enemy lines here.
E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!!!

I am from England so some phrases I use will mean something different to you.
When I say fun – I mean in a jovial way rather than the Eagles fans being trollish towards the Giants.
I appreciate that everytime I have posted on this site I have been well treated.

Call me curious...
but how’d you end up picking the Giants?
About 10 minutes ago, I was pondering my own existence. Then I decided that it didn't matter.
should of pick the patriots
kinda ironic cause what happen almost 300 years ago

Well
They started showing highlights of the NFL on UK TV in 1982 and I also played the Avalon Hill game Paydirt at the same time.
So I ended up choosing a team I liked playing in a game and watching on TV. I think LT had something to do with it as well!
I can not be called a glory hunter as they went 4-5 in 82 and 3-12-1 in 83 before they started winning more than they lost.
By chance I happen to live near York in the UK!

Dude...
Mcnabb and Vick are friends, of course he would like to see him become a starter in the nfl again and be successful. I doubt he is worred Vick will take his job. Also, I am so glad you can see into your crystal ball and tell me the Eagles can’t win a super bowl with Mcnabb as quarterback. I also appreciate a giants fan posting his record in the sb and conference games as if we did not know. You should be concerned about your 8-8 giants team.

I am concerned
about the Giants and it is hard to understand how a team wins by 30 one week and loses by 30 the next!
Sorry I did not mean to offend the Eagles fans by quoting stats etc. But all I read is that McNabb is worth a first in a trade as he will take a contender to the Bowl. How can they forecast that.
The NFC is a lot harder to win now than ten years ago and I just believe that McNabb’s window has closed.

We have Fox sports
so you get two games on Sunday on Fox and another channel shows the Sunday night game.
Fox sports has shown all the playoff games.
Sadly I do not subscribe for Fox so just follow the games on line and the odd game on radio. When the Giants have played in the late Sunday game I have watched some of it – but it starts at 1AM and I have work the next day!
I will be watching the game Sunday – hoping for a Saints win as a very good friend of mine has supported them since 1982 so I will be happy for him to have something to cheer about after all those years.

sooo my manager at work (cowboys fan) just said how good can that be? GM from cleveland… look at cleveland, what good did he do? can someone make me feel better about him consulting with us this season?
He was a great talent evaluator in Baltimore. He had a hand in drafting tackle Jonathan Ogden, linebacker Ray Lewis, receiver Jermaine Lewis, linebacker Peter Boulware, defensive back Chris McAlister, running back Jamal Lewis, linebacker Adalius Thomas, tight end Todd Heap, safety Ed Reed and linebacker Terrell Suggs.
Many of those guys are from the southeast, where he’ll be focusing for the Eagles. He lives down in Alabama, he scouted the senior bowl, and knows all those SEC players.
He will be ok.
He is one of the men responsible for the talented players in Baltimore. Ed Reed, chris McAlister, Suggs, Lewis, Ngata, Ogden among others.
JasonB...
Are you doing the First Round Mock Draft again this year, in which 32 of us each take a team?
tell you what, osi...
if you’re that concerned about starting, i know a particular team who could use a solid de on the left side. i’m pretty sure you’d start there. force a release, sign with them, and all your wildest dreams could come true.
I was thinking the same thing.
Osi and Cole would make an awesome duo. That might help the Eagles D gain some of that old swagger.

If we do the mick draft, and there are 64 ppl who want to do it I’d like to do 2. I think it’d be funny to see how different 2 sets of people’s opinion can be even when both make perfectly good points. You could say that the Rams need Suh, or a QB. The Lions need help at OL and DL, etc. Nothing is really black and white, the only sure thing is that Al Davis is wrong.

You must obviously not remember how fast Darius Heyward-Bey is.
/Al Davis logic
Proudly supporting a Flyers team with "no honor".
Yeah I also forgot how far Jamarcus Russell can throw a football too.
