Especially when you can just look at the times. Not to mention game film is 10x more important as is the system they played in during college.

The combine is sucha joke. I can find athletes (not football players) who could ace the combine. My 225 record is 23 or 25 (somewhere there abouts) @ 205 lbs. You can find that anywhere in the gym. You can train all the jumps and the 40 yard dash, and as you said, the 40 yard dash isn’t even a football move.

The only reason why I find semi-interesting is because it tells us who the Raiders are taking with their first pick. :)

They already had run dmc or they might have taken johnson instead maybe. They definately wanted a WR though.

McFadden and Johnson were in the same draft. The Raiders had not already selected McFadden when Johnson ran his 40.

Mamula wasn’t nearly as bad as people make him out to be and he actually had 2 decent seasons. Certainly no Jonathan Harris. It was just that the Bucs drafted Sapp instead and Eagles gave away 2 2nd round picks to move up in ’95 to the Bucs to get Mamula.

the scouting combine is exciting because after 3 weeks of no news, there is finally something happening. just think, next friday free agency starts.
and thats the beauty of it
if anything it proves how dumb the NFL would be to have a hold out. We follow this stuff so religiously that we even watch stuff that has no bearing on anything.

Why don't they just hold a bunch of scrimmages?
That would give you a better idea of how players perform in real live circumstances.
