First off, I realize Bush is not an every down back, nor is he a starting running back. However, there is a high chance that if he doesn't restructure he'll either be traded or cut. I think it would be wise for the Eagles to perhaps give him an opportunity. FYI, I think McCoy should start.
a) He doesn't have the vision Westbrook has, but he does have close to the same physical tools and he is a little bigger, stronger. His leaping ability is pretty amazing too -- even in college he had a few impressive leaps from the 4 yard line into the end zone.
b) He sucks running through the tackles, but I watched him in the playoffs and he still creates mismatches out of the backfield. He beat Karlos Dansby pretty easily, and I'm betting teams would be hesitant to put a safety on him with Jackson posing a threat. He's also got the speed to take it to the house.
c) His best strength, IMO, is his ability to make a play in the red zone. His physical tools allow him to turn corners really well and like I said he is a strong runner and learning patience (ever so slowly). In limited limited touches this year he scored 8 TDs. In the SB on 9 touches he gained nearly 60 yards. He can also return punts if we needed him to and he's great at it.
I think if the opportunity comes to sign him, he would give that receiving threat that Westbrook gave us in his prime. Again, I think he's a bust compared to the hype he was given coming out of college. But he definitely offers some great versatility as a role player on offense. If we can get him for 4-5 million a year I think you have to take a swing at him.
