Your Official Off Season Predictions
Try to predict what will happen, we'll keep this thread saved and see how close we all are. Whoever gets the most correct will be crowned something... Something awarding that I can't think of yet.
Free Agency
-My prediction is we sign Julius Peppers. We'll probably have to over pay for him and it's a bit of a gamble since he's older but our pass rushing situation looked pretty grim last year besides Trent Cole.
-This is a weak prediction, but I think we try and add a veteran safety (or possibly trade for one). Who? I don't know.. Weak, I know, but I don't think we try and fix it through the draft.
- I think we re-sign Weaver and Avant to long term deals.
- I think we re-sign Nick Cole
- I think Brian Westbrook restructures and plays one more year in a limited role
- I think Kevin Curtis restructures and plays one more year here.
- I think we let Sean Jones walk. No way we keep Sav , Gaither or Gocong either.
Trade
- Obviously, the biggest trade is going to be Donovan McNabb. I think we get a 2nd rounder from either Minnesota or Arizona.
- Vick will be traded for a 4th or a 5th round pick. I wish he would stay another year but he wants to start. It was fun while it lasted Mike, and I enjoyed having you in a few downs in Madden too.I think he either goes to OAK or BUF
- Another weak prediction: I think we move up in the draft for a top player. We should have plenty of ammunition as usual.
Draft
I don't know a whole lot about the draft prospects so get ready for your 3rd weak prediction from Joe_D.
I think our first rounder we draft a DE. The draft is pretty strong on that front from what I gather. My guess is we're going to make sure we get after the passer with our front four more. Babin, Clemons and Abimiri don't look like they'll be here much longer. Abiamiri probably gets one more year to prove himself. I think Darren Howard might be on the fringe too since he's getting much older.
I think the 2nd round goes to a CB and a LB (yes we will have two 2nd rounders).
And thats the end of my draft predictions, its not like the FO does anything we expect them to (save Jason and I forget who else who predicted Maclin--kudos).

If you're only able to make weak predictions
why are you posting predictions? I’m sorry- we’re probably not getting peppers. we’re probably not trading donovan. you can’t predict someone in the draft if you can’t name one prospect.

it’s for fun you god damn geek. and since you know so much lets see your depictions. It’s hilarious how u know we’re not trading mcnabb too. post up genius
E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!!!
Nice predictions, but...
The way the team is latched to Donovan makes me thing strongly against the chances of him getting traded. Besides that, I thought your predictions were decent.

Well
we were supposedly latched on to trotter, dawkins, vincent, etc, and we let them walk too.
E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!!!
I think Peppers would be a great fit for you guys. If you get him I think you will take the top Safety or LB available in the 1st.
It will/should be a D heavy draft for you guys though I could see you picking up a sledgehammer type RB in the MBIII, Peiere Thomas mold to compliment McCoy.
KICK ASS every day!!!
Isn't...
Peppers kind of old for the FO? It seems to me that they don’t normally go for old guys unless they had a previous history with the Eagles.
Also, would they trade BOTH McNabb and Vick? I think it’s either one or the other, but not both.
Free agency (our guys that stay)
Leonard Weaver, Jason Avant, Alex Smith, Max Jean Gilles, Nick Cole, Akeem Jordan
Free agency (our guys that are gone)
Sav Rocca, Jason Babin, Omar Gaither, Chris Gocong, Ellis Hobbs, Sean Jones
Free agency (our pickups from other teams)
Don’t see a lot of action here, unfortunately. Top guy on my wish list – Chester Taylor. We’ll also sign a veteran safety. Of the safeties available, top guy on my list is Danieal Manning of the Bears, who is also an elite kick returner.
QB situation
We trade McNabb straight up to the Vikes for their 1 (30th overall). We trade Michael Vick to the Niners for their 4.
Draft
First round – We trade up with the Pats from 24 to 22 (jumping the OL desperate Packers) and take Mike Iupati. The move is costly as we have to give up one of our 4’s, but recoup the Pats’ 6th rounder in 2011.
First round (from Vikings) – Brandon Graham, DE, Michigan
Second round – Kareem Jackson, CB, Alabama
Third round – Tony Pike, QB, Cincinnati (Kolb’s new understudy)
Third round – Dekoda Watson, OLB, Florida State
Fourth round (from the Jets) – Eric Decker, WR, Minnesota
Fourth round (from the Niners) – Montario Hardesty, RB, Tennessee
Fifth round – Brandon Sharpe, DE, Texas Tech
Fifth round (from N.O.) – Traded to the Jets for a 2011 4th rounder
Sixth round (from Indy) – Eric Cook, C, New Mexico
Seventh round (compensatory) – Cam Nelson, FS, Arizona
Seventh round (compensatory) – Jeremy Boone, P, Penn State
2nd rounder?
No way. I think there’s a 50/50 shot we trade Mcnabb. I think if they get offered less than a first round pick there is no way in hell the Eagles would (or should) do it.
My official predictions:
Vick gets traded for a third round pick to Buffalo. I respectfully disagree with Bye, Dawk because I don’t think Vick is a good fit for the Niners’ offense. He’s better on a team with a strong running game (Lynch, Jackson) that sets up the vertical play-action pass.
We head to camp with an open competition at quarterback. If the team was focused SOLELY on getting maximum trade value, they would have traded Brian Dawkins. They would have traded Derrick Burgess. They would have traded Tra Thomas or Jon Runyan. But they didn’t. I don’t think they trade McNabb, but I think they will give Kolb a fair shot.
I think we will go after Peppers in free agency, and I think we can get him. The front office has made two huge signings the past two years and I think they continue that trend. Personally, I think Peppers wants to play for a winner and that will motivate him and avoid a Haynesworth syndrome.
Draft:
1st round- Earl Thomas, safety if available. If Thomas is not available, I think the Eagles will trade down and pick up Morgan Burnett, safety in the second round.
2nd round- LB. Navarro Bowman if available. If Bowman is gone, I think they would take AJ Edds from Iowa. If not him, then I think they go guard.
3rd round- Guard or LB
3rd round- RB (Joe McKnight, Toby Gerhart, or Jonathan Dwyer)
The rest of the draft is very variable.
GO CUSE, BLUE, AND EAGLES!
It's somewhat realistic to hope for a 1 from the Vikes for a few reasons...
Assuming Favre retires (and please God, make him go away)…
- They neeeeeed McNabb. They’d be flat out crazy to hand over a team that talented to Tavaris Jackson. And there really aren’t any other even semi-realistic options at QB put there.
- Their 1 is a very late 1 (30th overall).
- For the Eagles to justify trading McNabb to a serious NFC Super Bowl contender, they’d almost have to demand a 1 in return. That of course doesn’t mean the Vikings will give up a 1 to make the Eagles feel warm and cuddly about the deal, but if the Eagles hold out long enough, maybe the Vikes cave?
I like your haul Tanman5
Peppers (which I’m starting to believe could happen; it fits the pattern of Eagles spending at premium spots for premium players), Thomas & Bowman

Bowman is slightly wishful thinking
But he won’t go above Weatherspoon, so hopefully he drops.

yeah, i guess emotions on sleeves isn't the expression i was looking for
but someone with passion. a la Dawk.
I know how the Eagles had lost a lot of their locker room leaders in such a short time.
What i meant was that we need to find guys who can really pump up their team. Dawk-esque charisma (though that’s hard to find).

Moses had 10 commandments. I have 10 predictions
1. Reggie Brown and Shawn Andrews are cut in training camp (I pray for this every night)
2. Kolb is traded to the 49ers for a second this year and a second next year
3. Vick is traded to Oakland for a third rounder
4. We sign Julius Peppers
5. Westbrook retires and Curtis walks
6. Eagles trade their first and next year’s second to move up to take Derrick Morgan
7. We sign Chester Taylor
8. We draft a quarterback
9. We draft Rolle in the 3rd round
10. Jibta and Joe_D quit BGN after McNabb signs a 3 year extension.
...But if he pulls the rug on his quarterback, Reid must do it knowing that he let McNabb down more than McNabb ever let him down.

Haha.
Biggest flaw I see is the Vick trade. I don’t think he’ll go to Oakland. They were already a possibility and it seemed pretty clear that he understood they would be a disaster for him thanks to Tony Dungy. Maybe swap Oakland for Buffalo.
Westbrook will retire and then get offered a job as an RB coach. He will turn it down, though, because he wants to spend a year away from football.
Peppers will get signed to a 3-year contract.
Vick will be traded to Buffalo for a 3rd round draft pick.
McNabb will be traded to Minnesota for a 1st round pick.
Martell Mallet will score at least 4 touchdowns, 1 of which will be against the Giants.
LeSean McCoy will become known as “the real McCoy” after Colt McCoy (whoever drafts him) turns out to be a bust.
The next BGN Bowl will have more than 22 players.
How can u say colt will be a bust?
He obviously won’t get any playing time this season therefore how can he be a bust?

four main qb predictions...
1) mcnabb stays and plays under the lame duck scenario
2) kolb stays and plays another year as the glorified backup
3) vick gets traded to the bills for a third rounder
4) eagles use that third rounder to draft timmy tebow
bet it
predictions, predictions, predictions
highly likely:
1.mcnabb goes to arizona for a first. matt leinart pulls an alex smith and agrees to stay for less money. mcnabb thrives during the regular season with big receivers who can catch his grossly inaccurate passes. they finish 10-6, only to have mcnabb piss away their divsional round with his air guitar and aloof demeanor.
2. kevin kolb throws for 3,114 yds, 21 tds, 15 int. misses 3 games with injury. actually leads his receivers from time to time. mike vick sticks for another year, because andy reid was playing madden the other day using the dolphins playbook and thought it was awesome.
3. lesean mccoy runs for 897 yds, catches for 420, with 6 rushing TDs, and 5 rec TDs…..doing a bit more of what he was drafted for as westbrooks replacement. i agree with whoever said westbrook comes back for less money and a limited role. he’ll still be our third down back/security blanket for kolb. i also expect to see mccoy more involved in the screen game.
4.sean jones stays as depth for quintin mikell. he should be able to contribute more often with a return to his natural position of SS. macho harris will also stay on the depth chart as 2nd string FS/special teams. quintin demps, you’re done, son. wrap it up. reid will trade him to subway for a 7th rounder and a conditional subway sandwich(based on demps sandwich skills/productivity)
5. julius peppers won’t be an eagle next year. javon kearse anyone? that didn’t turn out so well for us. the front office remembers. they won’t come anywhere near him for his asking price.
"it's like i tell my ex-wife, i never drive faster than i can see, and besides it's all in the reflexes." -Jack Burton, Big trouble in little China
pretty likely
1. the eagles draft a free safety in the first. i don’t buy the “if the eagles had a better pass rush, our safeties would have more oppurtunities” argument. we need someone who can cover and tackle. eric berry seems just outside of impossible. assuming someone would give us a first for mcnabb, we could trade up. probably not happening, but you never know. earl thomas seems like a good deal. the only way we get anywhere near taylor mays is if he falls to the late 2nd/early 3rd. he could be a great weakside/nickel linebacker. way too much of a risk in the 1st. if the eagles draft morgan burnett, expect a move to FS by mikell.
2. we get aaron kampman to play opposite trent cole. i think ray edwards is also a strong possibility, but i’m going to go with kampman. the guy will come cheap after the knee injury, it could be worth the risk considering the price.
3.we definitely draft a replacement for king dunlap. i still wake up in the middle of the night with a cold sweat with dreams of the oakland game. we can’t afford to not have a decent backup for jason peters. LT in the 3rd round.
4. the eagles bring in thomas howard to play MLB. witherspoon moves to WLB. bradley starts at SLB.
"it's like i tell my ex-wife, i never drive faster than i can see, and besides it's all in the reflexes." -Jack Burton, Big trouble in little China

Yomjoseki's Prediction
Eagles keep McNabb and Kolb. McNabb suffers a serious injury during the season, and Kevin Kolb takes over. He experiences some growing pains, but the Eagles make the playoffs and make it to the NFC Championship game under Kolb. The coaching staff makes the decision to move on without McNabb after the 2010 season.
I am the people's troll :3™
Thank you!
I’ve been on that since Day 1 … that I’d hate to have a Super Bowl contender derailed by a QB injury.
If we can fix the rest of the team without dealing more than one of the QBs, that’d be cool.
I think the Kolb era begins 2011 (if not sooner) under every scenario envisionable (made-up word) except for maybe McNabb winning the Super Bowl.
Still waiting for the Eagles to Bring It Home For Jerome
Yomjoseki's Prediction Addendum
1. We draft a QB with a high pick (1-3)
2. The only offensive lineman we draft is a little known center.
3. Vick is traded by March 5th to St. Louis (for a 4th).
4. Jackson and Maclin each get 1100 yards.
5. Celek gets 10 TDs.
6. We use our first round pick on a CB.
7. Quintin Demps becomes the most improved player on the team.
I am the people's troll :3™
The only way 1 happens
is if Kolb gets traded. So no, I don’t think 1 happens
GO CUSE, BLUE, AND EAGLES!
What if McNabb and Vick are dealt
even if Feeley or Garcia becomes Kolb’s backup, we could still use a 3rd rounder on a QB prospect.
I agree it’s not likely, but I don’t think Kolb has to be dealt for us to take a QB. Birds are all about best value available.
Still waiting for the Eagles to Bring It Home For Jerome
Prediction
My prediction is……McNabb, Kolb, and Vick all throw a football this offseason. There you have it
But seriously
If we can get only a second rounder for McNabb, that’s BS. Last year they said they would only listen for trading McNabb if the offer was three first rounders. Roy Williams went for a first, third and sixth, granted the cowboys are stupid. I think you can sucker a team in giving a first and another conditional pick.
ehh

"I'm trading Kolb to Buffalo for Cribbs"- the brilliant Trade Kolb
Prediction
Eagles trade Vick to the Bills for a 4th.
2 weeks before training camp, McNabb gets a 3 year extension.
3 weeks before training camp, Kolb gets a 5 year extension that overpays for a backup but underpays for a starter.
Kevin Curtis and Reggie Brown will be released after final cut-downs following training camp.
The Eagles will sign Aaron Kampman (3 year contract) plus a reserve DE from a bad team that none of us are familiar with.
Avant, Weaver, Cole, and Akeem will be resigned. MJG, Gocong, and Gaither will not. Sav will at least have training camp to fight for his job. Likely released.
The Eagles will draft a DE in the 1st round (Maybe Carlos Dunlap?). He will spell Kampman during rotations and be eased into the starting position.
There will be no salary cap. Because of this, Ellis Hobbs will be a RFA and will be tendered at the highest level.
All the Free Safeties the Eagles are interested in for the 1st or 2nd round will be gone. The Eagles will draft Maurkice Poncey, Center, instead. We will likely be upset.
I’m sure I’ll come up with others that are equally baffling/insightful.
Let the beasting begin.
Why would we give McNabb an extension before the season?
To quell the rumors?
As much as I know Reid, et. al. love the guy, I think they were pretty clear last year in giving him more money but not more years that they’ll have to see how he plays through 2010. Slim chance they extend him beyond then … especially if they have to extend Kolb in the interim, and we fall short again.
I like Kampman and your other predictions tho
Still waiting for the Eagles to Bring It Home For Jerome
Precisely.
I think the Eagles know just about as anyone that freeing a quarterback from constant rumor mongering only helps his performance. Plus, if they don’t get an offer they like for McNabb they’ll need to give him a contract that shows the rest of the league that if anyone wants him, they’ll need to trade for him, and not just simply wait until he is released.
Let the beasting begin.

Unfortunately, EvilBanner’s poetry slam session will be derailed because he will foolishly decide to watch Reid’s press conference where Reid soliliquizes (made up word! woot!) ...But if he pulls the rug on his quarterback, Reid must do it knowing that he let McNabb down more than McNabb ever let him down.
Phil Sheridan--Philadelphia Inquirer
Here goes
1. Vick is traded to the Bills for a 4th round pick. He and TO combine to do nothing special.
2. The Eagles spend every draft pick on defense except for a 3rd that they use to take an offensive lineman.
3. Eagles stand pat and take a DE in the 1st round. After that, who knows.
4. No team offers a 1st rounder for McNabb.
5. The Eagles bite the bullet and pay both Kolb and McNabb. Kolb gets up-front money to keep him around as a backup for McNabb’s last year, and the size of the contract all but guarantees he will be the starter in 2011. McNabb gets a 3 year extension with significant guaranteed money up front and the near certainty he will be traded or cut after the 2010 season.
6. There will be no CBA in 2010.
7. Shawn Andrews returns, gets into shape during training camps and is better than average, edging out his brother for the Winston Justice “who knew?” award.
8. Stacy Andrews rehabs the knee completely and is effective enough to start at guard again.
9. No Julius Peppers for us. In fact, no high profile free agent signings. Too much money is spent on resolving the QB situation. A rookie DE is drafted in the 1st round and ends up starting opposite Trent Cole.
10. Bradley comes back healthy, solidifying the secondary.
11. Westbrook refuses to restructure his deal for backup money and ends up cut. Torches and pitchforks are raised on AM radio.
12. Weaver, Avant, MJG, Cole and Babin all stick around. Roca keeps his job for another year. Abiamiri gets another chance but is injured again in training camp, winning the Jerome McDougle “we hardly knew ye” award.
13. Gaither and Gocong are cut.
7 and 8 are priceless!
This can NEVER happen, which is what makes it so funny. But it’s bold as hell, I’ll give you that.

yay predictions!!!!
QB: McNabb is back for 1 year, Kolb gets extended for 3 years, Vick goes to Buffalo because their new head coach really liked that commercial from 4 years back where Vick and TO played together and thinks that will happen. We get a 3rd rounder. We sign AJ Feeley back for third string.
RB: McCoy is starter, Westbrook retires, Weaver gets extended 5 years, buckley becomes a man beast, we return to the three pronged attack from 2001. Awesomeness ensues.
WR: Jackson gets reworked contract, only paid as a top 15 WR, talks a bunch of shit produces like a top 10. Maclin just works, shows flashes of brilliance, produces like a top 15, Avant signs 2 year extension, does some sick stuff but never quite puts it together, Brown goes bye bye, but Curtis gets an additional year to see whats up.
OL: Peters, Herremans, and Jackson resume starting roles. Shawn Andrews plays 2 games, then decides that rapping is his column. Sells 130 units to mostly close friends and family. Coles becomes offcial starter after Andrew’s “injury”. Stacy Andrews beats out Justice for starting RT spot. Justice fills in as needed at RG and RT.
TE: Brent Celek has an even more amazing year, gets the pro bowl nod over Witten like he should have this year and ends up as the third best TE in the league, behind Gates and Clark. Ingram tears his ACL in the 3rd pre season game, consider his career over.
DE: Trent Cole Dominates, 14 sacks. Parker and Abiamari only combine for 6 after being replaced by a rookie after the 5th game. Details to follow. Howard gets 7 sacks.
DT: Bunkley and Patterson maintain roles. Laws plays but contributes nothing. Gone in the offseason.
LB: Bradley returns!!!!!!!! 3rd highest tackle total in league. Passed over for pro bowl cause of haters. Jordan makes some fantastic plays, and some boneheaded ones. Overall he remains solid. Witherspoon moved to OLB, his natural postion. Very good. White sees significant playing time and shows that when Witherspoon is done in 2 years, we have an amazing replacement. Fokou costs us 2 games, costs him his job in offseason. Gocong and Gaither gone.
CB: Somebody punches Sheldon Brown in face, Eagle Nation smiles but knows it was for his own good. Remains starter. Samuel makes 8 picks, 2 returned for TD’s but bounces off WR’s and RB’s like a game of ping pong. We moan and cuss but management likes the picks so he stays, Joselio Hanson shows once again, he is a nickel corner, no more, no less. Hobbs returns, does well in limited role. Macho Harris is moved back to CB, sits on bench and watches what a football player should do. Is stripped of nickname.
S: Quintin Mikell realizes with an actual FS he no longer has to cover the entire field deep. returns to roots of blowing players up. Gets snubbed for pro bowl because nobody knows him yet. Kerry Rhodes shows a giant middle finger to the Jets and comes to the next Super Bowl Champs. We are good at S again. Eagle fans rejoice!!!
Oh and we drop Demps off in center city philly wearing a cowboys jersey. Film results as the best reality show ever!
K: It’s Akers. he’s timeless.
P: Sav remains Punter. Crushes some, shanks some. Sav no longer punter.
Not up to speed on the draft so I can do a no go with those predcitions, although I do believe Mike Kafka will end up being the best QB out of this draft class. The Eagles won’t go and get him, but that’s the only thing I really know.
Philly ends up 12-4. Wins NFC East. Earns outright 1st round bye and homefield advantage throughout. McNabb finally brings us that Superbowl we drafted him for. We thank him by signing him to another 1 year deal and then trading him somewhere. (Okay that last parts not going to happen. As long as McNabb wants to play and Reid is our coach, McNabb is our QB) There are my predicts. Bank on them.
Wait one draft prediction. I will watch draft and cuss out the Eagles for not doing what i want them to. Will turn out alright for us anyway. That’s very much a guarantee.

+1 rec. I’d do more if I could.
I love the idea of Kerry Rhodes. I think there’s no chance Curtis is back … he’s the goniest goner on the roster, and not because he stinks, but because he’s overpaid for a 4th WR.
Also, I’ll take Durant Brooks for punter. Heard it here first.
Still waiting for the Eagles to Bring It Home For Jerome
Why not?
1. Peppers is in Philly
2. We bring in another DT to compete with Laws
3. Babin is gone
4. Westbrook restructures
5. Ingram is our #2 TE and healthy
6. McNabb is out
7. We trade back in the first round for a first the following year and a 3rd the following year
8. Gocong is gone, but Gaither stays
9. Buckley is gone
10. Reggie is cut
"Now Sav Rocca played for the Magpies in Australia. I don't know if it's a bird or a pie or what it is." Ike Reese
Predictions:
1. Draft a DE in the first, and Cole doubles the new kid’s sack total
2. Morgan Burnett in the 2nd, and he has a decent/very good rookie year
3. Antonio Dixon makes the squad, Laws gets cut
4. Abiamiri gets cut after a disappointing preseason
5. McNabb plays, finishes the year with close to 4000 yards and 20 TD, to go with 11 picks (1 or less in the red zone)
6. Eagles finish first in the league in turnovers, and top 5 in sacks, but are not top 5 in any other category.
7. We draft a receiver late
8. Shawn Andrews doesn’t play for us again, but Stacy comes back and is a decent starter at RG.
9. Reggie Brown gets the boot and copies LJ Smith’s career path (goes to Ravens and does nothing)
10. Westbrook comes back, has 120 carries for 550 yards.

Phil Sheridan--Philadelphia Inquirer
I assume so...
I mean, at leash Shawn Andrews does…
About 10 minutes ago, I was pondering my own existence. Then I decided that it didn't matter.
Basic list
1. Eagles consider moving McNabb but don’t get what they are looking for (1st rounder). McNabb plays out his last year in Eagles’ uniform. Kolb is back as the backup.
2. Vick is traded mainly for the simple fact that he is has the chance to make $7M next year in salary & incentives if he is on the roster all year. No way in hell Banner pays a backup QB who is used 8-10 plays a game that kind of money.
3. Eagles draft a S with a high draft pick (1st/2nd) to pull the hole at FS. They also use one of their higher round picks on a CB.
4. Eagles keep one LB (Jordan) out of their FB linebackers. They also bring in a veteran LB via free agency and draft a LB with a mid/later round pick (4th/5th).
5. Eagles don’t do much in FA although they do bring back several of their own FA including Weaver, Avant, Cole, Jordan, and Rocca.
6. Peppers doesn’t end up in an Eagles’ uniform; bitching commences. Eagles do bring in another DE via a trade.
7. Rocca is still the full-time punter next year for the Opening Day even though he clearly has competition in training camp.
8. Stacy Andrews rounds back into form and contributes next year at RG. Shawn Andrews doesn’t.
9. Westbrook is back for 1 final year although it is on a restructured deal and it isn’t a pretty affair.
My list
1. Eagles draft a CB with their first pick (100% convinced)
2. Unfortunately, Mcnabb stays and Kolb backs him up one final year
3. Vick is traded for a 3rd rounder to Buffalo
4. Eagles don’t acquire Peppers, but sign a different DE that was less expected but almost as exciting
5. Westbrook doesn’t restructure and is let go
6. Curtis, Gocong are cut. Reggie Brown stays
7. Both Weaver and Avant are resigned
8. Desean Jackson is extended with a well deserved raise
9. Shawn Andrews comes back, and wins back a starting gig
10. Stacy Andrews may be damaged goods, but stays on the team as O-line depth
11. Rocca remains our starting punter
12. Eagles bring in a few no-name LB’s who will fight for a position on the team
13. Safety issue is addressed in the draft in the 2nd/3rd round.
My Serbo-Croatian lessons were too long ago
So I don’t remember how to say “I’m with you on this.”
Would you settle for a “mnogo dobro”? (“very good”)
List
Kolb gets traded. Vick and McNabb are here next season. McNabb gets extended. (Andy finds out there is a bigger market for Kolb than Don)
We trade away our 1st rounder for Peppers
Westbrook gets released
Either Weaver or Avant are not resigned because they are asking for too much money and another team makes a big offer.
Desean’s contract negotiations go into camp and becomes a distraction and big story
Both Andrews report to camp, but only 1 of them makes the team.
We go back to drafting Linemen with our high picks and don’t address safety until the 3rd round or later.
By the end of the Draft we have 2 or more future picks gained
What's REALLY going to happen
wild_eagle pulls a papale and makes the Eagles, solving our problems at safety. The Eagles meet the Saints in the NFC Championship and wild_eagle makes a jarring hit on reggie bush to force a fumble, then returns it for a TD.
Seeing her man embarassed by an up and coming star, Kim comes to her senses and leaves the Bushman for wild_eagle, who reaches immediate Bye Dawk status on BGN as a result

I’ll even get you an Eagle Green swimsuit you can wear. Wouldn’t it be a great story, “from Bleeding Green Nation to Kissing Kim Kardashian?” And while we’re at it, to keep the rhyme going, here’s a carnation. How about it, angel?
Kim: Uh, sure, why not.
[Hurricane Paparazzi bursts in]
Another thought I had
Vick to the raiders for Burgess and a pick? I would say Seymour because I assume he wants a good team but considering what they gave to get him it doesn’t make sense
"Now Sav Rocca played for the Magpies in Australia. I don't know if it's a bird or a pie or what it is." Ike Reese
You really want Burgess? I’d be more content to trade Vick for a pick without Burgess involved… I think his best years are really behind him.
About 10 minutes ago, I was pondering my own existence. Then I decided that it didn't matter.
I'm just guessing it's possible rather than saying I want him
If I remember correctly the Eagles were supposedly interested in trading for him last year. If Oakland is a potential trade partner then Burgess is a potential element in the trade.

Valid point. But as long as we're doing hypotheticals here...
If we did a deal with them, I wonder if we could swing it so we get a 4th rounder and Louis Murphy. I like how he played last year, and he’d be a hell of a lot cheaper than Reggie Brown/Kevin Curtis

Player to watch
So I know even if he gets on our team he may not make it but Pat Simonds out of Colgate broke the touchdown record at their school. 6’5" 230 4.57 40 So he’s a big guy who is strong! I’m a senior in College and in Highschool i played basketball against this guy 3 nights a week. I’m 5’10" 220 and had to guard him so I know how competitive he is. He is quick for his size but you also have to understand that i graduated with 50 kids in HS and it was the largest class in my schools history. This kid went to Sydney HS, the town over which was still small. This would be the first pro from our area and would be incredible. He also has a great attitude and a great head on his shoulders. He’s great at jump balls so as a 5th or 6th WR he might have a chance.
Here’s to hoping!!!
He's projected in the 7th round
so he might be worth a shot! Just so you know i have at least some eye for talent I was the captain of our HS state championship bball team and captain of the baseball and soccer teams…mind you it was Class D ball there was still talent. Simonds also took his hs football to a state championship victory which I believe was class C.
If anyone cares

We don't hear much about Macho Harris
He will be back primarily as a guy in special teams coverage and as a depth option at S but he will be almost completely out of the spotlight with pretty limited roles.
Michael Vick will be a St. Louis Ram next season for a 3rd rounder.
Mcnabb will be our starting QB next season and will have a good(still top 10) but not spectacular year. Kolb will get an extension and take over the next season.
Eagles will sign Julius Peppers.
Stewart Bradley returns to old form with a 100+ tackle season and solidifies our LB position.
1st Round pick will be an O-linemen
2nd Round Safety
3rd Round Linebacker
3rd Round Cornerback
3rd Round O-linemen
4th Round Running Back
4th RoundCornerback
5th Round O-linemen
5th Round Wide Receiver
6th Round Defensive End
7th Round Comp. Pick Punter
7th Round Comp. Pick O-linemen
However, not all picks will be used. There will be at least 2 trades during the off season involving draft picks.
Weaver, Jordan, Avant, N.Cole will remain Eagles.
We will have a new Punter.
Jeremy Maclin will have more catches the Desean Jackson.
Desean Jackson will be top 5 in the league in yards receiving.
Brent Celek will be a pro bowler.
We will have No.1 Special Teams in the League
We will have a top 5 offense and top 10 defense.
We will win the division with a 12-4 record.
Eagles win the Superbowl with Mcnabb’s last season with the team.
Mcnabb retires an Eagle after the season.
Jody will weep like a girl when Mcnabb retires after winning the first Superbowl for the Eagles :p
if mcnabb wins a sb
i’ll be happy……. but if that happens 99.9% chance I wake up afterwards and realize it was all a dream
E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!!!
Similar to Brett Favre situation except the repeated unretiring. He will be 35 with skills declining with a younger, groomed QB in the wings. He has fulfilled what he came to accomplish for himself and the city. His contract is over and he wants to retire an Eagle. Kolb will not sign an extension if Mcnabb will stay a couple more years. Add to the fact that we can’t extend two quarterbacks at the same time. One will stay, one must go. With the way this organization operates, the younger option is more valuable.
It’s a good thought. But if we don’t extend him after winning the superbowl. 1. He will move somewhere else. Today’s players want to play, and there physical conditioning allows them to play effectively, longer. McNabb may no longer be an Eagle but he won’t be retired. 2. Andy Reid will receive such a giant lashback if he lets our Superbowl winning QB walk after he wins that it would not be funny. There would be serious hell to pay.
Like I said in another post, though. I belive we do win the Superbowl with McNabb this next season and Reid does let him walk. I’m just saying it is not gonna be pretty. Especially if Kolb struggles even a little bit or is a complete flop.

McNabb hasn’t been declining. He’s had nearly identical stats for like 8 years. In fact, if anything, his stats have been BETTER the last 4 years.
I am the people's troll :3™
I am one of the biggest Mcnabb supporters on here(Ask Jody)...
but even I will admit his skills have declined. I will take 2004 Mcnabb over 2010 Mcnabb any day. I can argue the reason his numbers have been good/better the last couple of years is because of the emergence of the young offensive talent Reid finally gave him. What made Mcnabb so good in 2004 is because not only was he more accurate(64% comp+ highest QB rating), he made a LOT more plays with his legs than he can now. Although, by plays with his legs I don’t just mean rushing but check out his rushing averages his first 8 years compared to his last 3. He had the most overall offensive talent he has ever had in his career last year yet he couldn’t surpass his 2004 numbers. He is still our best option for next year but I don’t believe he has not declined. You never know though. He could pull a 2008 Kurt Warner and have the best year of his career next season. I would love for that to happen.
Haha...
not the same light you see man.
He is still our best option for next year but I don’t believe he has not declined. You never know though. He could pull a 2008 Kurt Warner and have the best year of his career next season. I would love for that to happen.
I still want him as our starter next year. I don’t think he should go out playing with the 3rd most injured team in the NFL. He deserves a last shot with a more experienced, complete team.
mcnabbs legs
i think he has the legs, he just refuses to use them. watchin him play in the pro bowl really pissed me off after this season. there were plenty of times he easily could have gotten some yards if he just took off, even if it was only 3/4 yrds. instead mcnabb threw it away or it was incomplete, and we had 2 and 10 instead. he still has the ability to use his legs, not as well obviously he is older, but he doesnt. watchin him run in the pro bowl was truly frustrating.
"Eagles fans are a passionate group who love their team," said McNabb, "if not the actual players. It's not like winning a Super Bowl before the first month of the season is the hardest thing they've ever asked of me. That'd be all those times they asked me to go kill myself."

We’ve seen a couple of times that he can still run. The question is why doesn’t he. It’s hard to know how much of McNabb’s refusal to run is his own decision and how much is Reid’s orders. Either way his game changed to be more of a pocket passer and avoid giving the defense a shot at causing injury or stripping the ball.
If my mother put on a helmet and shoulder pads and a uniform that wasn't the same as the one I was wearing, I'd run over her if she was in my way. And I love my mother. - Bo Jackson
pocket passer
that doesnt mean you can’t run the ball…im not sayin he take off like michael vick….im just gain a couple yards if you can and there isnt anything open down field….sort of the way favre shouldnt have thrown that ball in the NFCCG, he should have just run forward for a couple yards….

I think he is still shook
From a couple of years ago against Ten. when he tore his ACL after running. he didn’t even get hit, just ran out of bounds but his knee just buckled. he hasn’t been the same runner since and even though when he does take off, they say about how it’s not an issue, I think it is.

Also...
You didn’t reply to my full response. What do you think of the rest of what I said? Does Mcnabb get extended if we win the Superbowl with him next season or does he leave via Free Agency? What do you think will happen with Kolb?
Of course he would be extended. How many Super Bowl winning QBs get released the next year? It’s not similar to Favre. McNabb is 35 and is in better shape than most 30 year-old players. He hasn’t had injury problems recently and there’s no reason to believe he’s anything less than 100%.
There’s no reason we can’t extend both QBs considering Kolb will have limited options as a RFA and McNabb has no reason to want to leave. I’m not saying Kolb will be happy sitting on the bench that long, but he can’t just up and leave.
I am the people's troll :3™
So you still believe 2010 34 yr old Mcnabb is the same athletically and physically as 2004 28yr old Mcnabb? That would be delusional.
As for your injury argument. Ignoring his rookie year, his next 5 seasons as starter he missed a grand total of just 6 games. He started at least 15 games 4 of those 5 seasons.
Next 5 seasons he missed a total of 17 games and started at least 15 games just once in 2008.
We only have..
7 draft picks 5 in the first 4 rounds.
where's the 7th pick??
two 4ths/3rds….one 1st/2nd….thats only 6…

Off season predictions
Eagles sign Julius Peppers
Eagles trade Chis Gocong for Derrick Johnson
McNabb does not get traded
Mike McGlynn is the staring C
I don't see Peppers in Eagle Green
He will demand an enormous contract and will not be happy in our 4-3 even though we run many variations similar to a 3-4. I want to see Aaron Kampman in Eagle Green. He is a force to be reckoned with and will compliment Cole perfectly. He is coming off an injury and will demand less money. It would allow us to spend a first round draft pick else where thinking specifically Sean Weatherspoon to take over at LB for Gocong.
Bradley Weatherspoon and Witherspoon at LB could be amazing!
Morgan Burnett
or Nate Allen at Safety and a late sleeper AKWASI OWUSU-ANSAH from a d-2 school at CB I would love to see the Eagles snag Toby Gerhart in the second or third round with one of the extra picks they get from trading a QB. Gerhart is a big powerful back that pushes the pile and would make a great 1-2 punch with him and McCoy for years to come
My Predictions....
1. The eagles lose the bidding war for Peppers to NE.
2. We Trade Vick to Stl(4rd) so they can draft Gerald McKoy the smaller but more disruptive elite DT.
3. SBrown is moved from CB to Safety. Eagles draft Myron rolle(rd.3) to learn behind Brown.
4. In rd1 Eagles either go DE Dunlap or CB Warren. The eagles were a three way tie for sacks as a def unit with 44 sacks. We are not in that bad of shape for rushing the QB.

6. Stew comes back and performs well.
7. Bwest stays one more yr.
8. Curtis, Trott, Hobbs, Alex Smith, Gaither, Jean-Gilles, Gocong, and Rocca are gone.
9. Shawn Andrews gives up on getting his Michael Phelps on and returns to go back on IR.
10. Avant, Jordan, Nick Cole, White, Babin(released resigned), Sean Jones and Weaver
11. Draft: R2- Bowman, r3- Havier Arenas, r3- Myron Rolle, r4- FS, r4-DE
12. Djax and Maclin hit for over 1000yds.

15. Eagles for the 3rd straight year score the most points in franchise history.
16. Our D finishes inside the top 8.
We get swept by Dallas but win the division.

put the pipe down...
"Eagles fans are a passionate group who love their team," said McNabb, "if not the actual players. It's not like winning a Super Bowl before the first month of the season is the hardest thing they've ever asked of me. That'd be all those times they asked me to go kill myself."

You have San Diego missing the playoffs? I don’t see how. In my book, they are the AFC West champs by default until someone else fields a team that can win outside the division.
I am the people's troll :3™
SD missing the playoffs...
that’s not exactly the craziest thing…if Den can fix it’s end of the year collapsing, they can win that division.

I know it sounds...
Crazy, dumb etc… BUT only half the teams who made the PO’s this year will make them this year. I had to get creative to have any chance at all to being right. Making predictions before the draft and FA is kinda putting the carriage before the horse but, it’s just for fun so I gave it a shot.
I picked SD because Im not sure VJax stays. He’s a FA. Im not sure Sproles can carry the ball over 150 times in a season, and Merriman(who brings an attitude to the d) comes back either. That being said IDK who they draft or sign.
So I really chose between NYJ and SD of who made it and was not going to make it back. I don’t buy into Sanchez but I do but in to that D. Thinking back I should of probably switched the two but I’m not getting paid to guess:)
sorry..
Avant, Jordan, Nick Cole, White, Babin(released resigned), Sean Jones and Weaver all get resigned
this is not the only thing I've read about
Vjax not being in SD. I’ve also read on espn insider(aka drama maker) that he was unhappy with the way SD has dealt with him. And they are unhappy about him getting a DUI before the playoff game.

I know it says its..
unlikely they(mia) give up a 1st and 3rd. But after the Cutler saga you never know.
Actually..
I’ve researched it more and it seems there is no rift between the two sides. My mistake.
