The Linc - Troy Vincent joins the leauge office
Eagles' Laws prepares for life off gridiron | Philadelphia Inquirer | 02/19/2010
Probably a smart move if his play on the gridiron doesn't significantly improve this coming year...
Year in Review: Victor Abiamiri | Philly | 02/18/2010
Think way back to early September and Week 1 of the NFL season. Do you remember who was in the starting lineup at left defensive end opposite Trent Cole? It was Victor Abiamiri. The third-year defensive lineman actually recovered a fumble and took it to the end zone for a touchdown.
2010 NFL Mock Draft: Kiper pushes Clausen inside the top 5 - ESPN
Mel Kiper has the Eagles taking USC safety Taylor Mays in his latest mock draft.
Dealing away McNabb would be flat foolish for Philly - CBSSports.com
For the Eagles to consider trading Donovan McNabb, they'd have to be certain that Kevin Kolb is another Steve Young or Aaron Rodgers, worthy of shoving aside a franchise quarterback to accommodate his talent. In other words, they'd have to be deranged.
CSNPhilly.com - Eagle Eye
It’s clear now that Stacy Andrews will not be returning with his current contract. He’s going to take some sort of pay cut or be searching for a new team. Really, no surprise there. In fact, expect Andrews to have plenty of company in this predicament. The same players that spent last year locked inside the NovaCare Complex with him (Kevin Curtis, Brian Westbrook and Reggie Brown) all could face similar scenarios.
Troy Vincent joins league office | Philadelphia Daily News | 02/18/2010
At one point, Troy Vincent was a candidate to be the executive director of the players’ union. Now, Vincent has joined the league office. The former Eagles cornerback was named vice president of player development for active players yesterday. He begins Monday. He will oversee a number of support programs for players and their families, including the rookie symposium, conduct management program, and LifeSkills, and design new programs, the league said in announcing the hiring.

Thanks for the piece that 30 other national hack writers already clumsily threw together, CBS (Gwen Knapp)...
…which of course includes the obligatory potshot at the “dumb Philly fans…”
the patience-challenged Philadelphia fans don’t know how good they have it with McNabb
That oft-repeated sentence is so utterly stupid.
Fair enough...
…but aren’t the 30 local hack writers who repeat the foolish "Sure, Donovan’s the best QB on the team by a mile but he ’can’t win the big one’ " argument just as worthy of chastisement?
...But if he pulls the rug on his quarterback, Reid must do it knowing that he let McNabb down more than McNabb ever let him down.
Phil Sheridan--Philadelphia Inquirer
Oh, God. Not Mays
Please, not Mays. I have nightmares about every half-decent WR in the league streaking past that giant oaf. Yeah, he’s huge and he runs fast. You know who else fits that description? Roy Fucking Williams. He’s a liability in coverage and he takes terrible, terrible angles to the ball. Make him a WIL if you must, but don’t draft him expecting to find a safety.
Also,
I love that picture of Merriman and Vincent.
“Say whaaat? She can get half?! Of everything?!?!”
If you're refering to the pic on this page
thats actually Vincent and Duce Staley
I'd rather be an Eagles fan till the day i die and go 0-16 every year than be a cockroach cowboys fan
Yes, it is.
My bad. Hmm. It was funnier with Merriman.

Article on Abiamiri
Was pretty spot on:
1. Built out Parker in camp supposedly to earn the nod at LDE to the season
2. Struggled against the run and wasn’t able to keep a spot at LDE,
3. Got hurt
4. Came back as a situational pass rusher with Howard in the middle on 3rd downs and didn’t do much.
Pretty fair to say at this point that Abiamiri is getting awfully close to being a “bust” as a 2nd round pick. Expect him to be on the team next year but it is his last year under contract too. I would be surprised if he contributes anything meaningful at this point.
I with you were wrong MG77
im abiamiri were actually what he was projected to be, we’d be a much better defense.
My "t" and "y" buttons are messed up so don't bitch at me about misspelling, I'm just saying.

Not surprised
That Vincent was named to that position. It was pretty clear all along that his post-playing career was going to be an easy one. Articulate and intelligent guy who generally had always had something worthwhile to say when he was a player here.
One of my favorite Eagles’ players of the past 20 years even if he wasn’t a huge fan favorite even though you could argue that he was the best CB in Eagles’ history. Certainly better than the overrated Bobby Taylor who always seemed to get much more praise than he deserved including his stone hands and ability to get beat by a good quick cut even earlier in his career.
Troy Vincent - the anti-Asante Samuel
Unlike Asante Samuel who gets the billing, paycheck, and accolades (Pro-Bowl) of being a top-flight corner, Vincent actually was a top-flight corner who was worthy of that kind of praise.
Among the fanbase
He was never as popular as the likes of McNabb or Dawkins. Hell, I would argue that other guys like Douglas and Trotter on the defensive-side were just as popular if not more popular among the wider fanbase. Maybe just me but it always seemd like Taylor & Vincent got talked about in the same kind of general praise when Vincent was clearly a better cover corner and better overall player.
Please don't
That’s all our secondary will say if we get Mays, I don’t get why we don’t challenge Mikell? Why can’t we trade our 1st for a 2nd and a 3rd, and grab Nate Allen and Myron Rolle that way we can challenge our safety and get two young studs. Also, I don’t like any D-ends in this draft besides Derrick Morgan, but if we got Peppers that would give our D the swag it had wit Dawkins, which was the worst move FO has ever done. And will everyone get off Kolb, we would be attending his funeral after the dallas game if he started, this is a black QB town, you need thick skin, and brothers got the thickest
was actually interested in what you wrote...
till you brought race into the qb situation.
"Eagles fans are a passionate group who love their team," said McNabb, "if not the actual players. It's not like winning a Super Bowl before the first month of the season is the hardest thing they've ever asked of me. That'd be all those times they asked me to go kill myself."
