DeSean Jackson stars in first pro bowl

DeSean Jackson shined in the NFC's 41-34 loss to the AFC in last night's pro bowl. The breakout second year star had 6 catches for an NFC team high 101 yards and two TD receptions. In typical Jackson style, his second TD was a 58 yard play from Donovan McNabb. Jackson took a quick WR screen, made several guys miss before accelerating past the secondary from 58 yards out.

Last night capped off a pretty amazing second year for Jackson, one that will surely make his stardom and bank account grow.

David Akers was also perfect on the night and Asante Samuel got himself a pick.

It was

a typical night for Asante he will get burned 2 or 3 times but possibly get you a pick. I’d rather have him not get burned for 6, might mean less INT’s but 4 – 6 INT are still nice if is stops the easy 6 he gives up on a pretty regular basis.

It was

a pretty typical night for McNabb too… a bunch of inaccurate passes and a smile on his face.

yeah seriously

he looked awful last night

Keep your ego in check DeSean, keep your ego in check.

Is anybody else worried about a holdout this summer for DeSean? I gotta feeling he is gonna be demanding big money to match his big ego after all the hype this year

by PhillyTilly on Feb 1, 2010 1:41 PM EST up reply actions

Exactly what I'm worried about.

He definitely strikes me as the type of player to hold out of practice and training camp.

Yeah, I'm worried

I live in exile in South Florida. There was an advertisement in the sports section of Sunday’s newspaper for this big pre-Super Bowl party that every Eagles fan’s favorite agent, Drew Rosenhaus, is throwing (it’s at a club, pay to get in, whatever). The main names on the guest list that was advertised were… TO, Chad OchoCico… and DJax. That didn’t help my worry.

by wildcatlh on Feb 1, 2010 2:56 PM EST up reply actions

No one tackled in this game, I have to say I loved both TD’ s by him but that second one he easily could have been tackled or hit a few times on the run.

by Ant on Feb 1, 2010 12:00 PM EST reply actions

He could have been tackled on the first one too. I don’t take it seriously, but good for him, I guess.

Eagles summary

- Our QB was the worst QB at the Pro Bowl and thoroughly embarassed himself

- Our multi-million dollar cornerback was exposed as the mediocre player he is: gets burnt 2-3 times a game and possibly comes away with a pick

- Our best offensive player is an attention-hungry diva backed by the most vicious sports agent in the league and is probably going to end up holding out for a ridiculous contract and end up imploding the team.

Sounds good in Philadelphia!

I agree but

it remains to be seen what jackson does in the future… for now he’s fun to see in an eagles uniform… that said, the only reason he’s even an eagle is just dumb luck… i’m surprised reid drafated him… its an accident he didn’t do what he usually does and burn all his picks on dogs and discontents like laws, demps, harris, gocong, abiamiri, gaddis, considine, andrews, simon, mitchell, pinkton, etc, etc…. my gosh, he’s the absolute dumbest sob in the league when it comes to judging talent… well, maybe not… at least he didn’t draft ryan leaf or demarcus russel… probably he would have if given the chance…. here’s hoping againt hope that the talk of keeping mcmoron for another year is just talk… and the real plan is to saddle some other team with the smiling imbecile!!!!!!

by Elmo the faithful fan on Feb 1, 2010 3:29 PM EST up reply actions

You're right.

It’s a total accident Reid drafted Jackson. It’s an accident our team is stocked to the rafters with young talent veteran trash. Andy’s drafting skill is pretty horrific. I mean the average age of our starters is like, what, 35? Almost none of them were drafted by the Eagles. Hopefully we ship out Andy Retard and McMoron so can have a winning season soon.

by jho on Feb 1, 2010 4:26 PM EST up reply actions

Some faithful fan you are...

I mean, seriously, buddy. If you HATE all of Reid’s “terrible” draft picks, if you HATE McNabb, then why follow the team at all?

You’re the moron. Now, go be a Cowboys fan and leave us REAL faithful fans alone.

McNabb - NFC Leading Pro Bowl Rusher

I was amused that McNabb led the NFC by rushing for 26 yards on 4 carries.

i must admit

Jackson is scaaarrrrry- i’m glad we have whatever answer to him that other teams don’t- because he is just in another gear when on the field.

he’s no felix, but he’s dam near close.
