First and foremost, let's address what happened last night. It sucked. To quote the great Jim Mora Sr., we couldn't do didly poo. Our offensive line, Dmitri Patterson and Offensive coaching staff get the blame here. Michael Vick took 6 sacks last night and should of taken about 5 more. Jason Peters actually did a decent job againist Jared Allen considering the fact they moved him around so much but the other 4 guys were garbage. Dmirti Patterson had another awful game and probably blow his chance of being a starting corner in the NFL. I know a lot of people are calling for Trevard Lindley to start for Patterson but I think Joselio did a good job when Asante is out and it's really late in the season to start a rookie at one of the key positions in football. Plus, we can just put Lindley on the outisde opposite of Asante and keep Joselio in the slot in nickel and dime packages. Our coaching staff gets the blame for sitting back and watching the Vikings bltiz every play without calling a screen play for Shady until late in the fourth quarter( that play went for about 25 yards).
Ok, so our loss to the Vikings took us out of a possible first round bye. We still have a home game againist a wildcare team in the playoffs. More then likely we will play a Green Bay Packers team that actually has more season ending injuries then we do. Very winnable game, not easy win but winnable none the less. Let's say we win that we get the rematch that I think a lot of us would want with the Bears. We find a way to win that there is a very good chance we would get the NFC title game at home as the Saints and Falcons meet in the divisional round(assuming the Saints beat the NFC West champ) and the Saints would have a very solid chance of beating the Falcons and with the Saints being a 5 seed and us being a 3 seed.
