Hello, my name is EvilBanner and I was unjustly banned from Big Blue View...
Greetings fellow BGN'ers. In the interest of representing the interests of the 17 staunch Eagles defenders who were banned from Big Blue View, I thought I would respond to Justin's recent anti-gloating screed. In his opening paragraph, Justin claims that those who visited BBV after the Eagles were, "only furthering the stereotype that a lot of people have that Eagles fans are drunk cretins who get high off the pain of others." This could not be further from the truth. I posted two legitimate comments and one fanpost titled "Ask an Eagles Fan" in which I told the Giants fans what they could expect from that day's sporting contest. And you know what, my prediction of 38-31 came true. Their inability to deal with stellar prognostication abilities on my part is their fault, not mine.
Justin seems to think that we are weak and pussified around here. He asks the age-old question: "Seriously, imagine the Eagles had a 31-10 lead in the 4th quarter, blew it to lose it 38-31 in regulation, and a bunch of Giants fans came on over here to laugh and gloat in our faces immediately afterward. You'd be kind of annoyed, wouldn't you?" Fuck no, Justin. I welcome the troll. We brutally gang rape trolls and send them scurrying back into their holes. It is another flaw of BBV that they lack any poster, moderator or demigod that can match the "BGN 17." It's like this: would you criticize a team for winning against a vastly inferior opponent? Hell no. We played on their field, scored many touchdowns and Nestle plunged into their goddamn blog like Caesar crossing the motherfucking Rubicon. Take that, you trash eating Jersey scum!
He ends his post with an appeal: "They had to ban 17 accounts in the past 48 hours. Seventeen!" he writes. Again, their problem, not mine. Because they are ill-equipped to deal with thinking men, they ban us. They did the same shit to Copernicus and Jesus when they wrote for sports blogs.

Apparently telling them Shawn Andrews is not the GOAT at LT and responding to a douche bag who kept attacking me is ‘trolling’. They don’t ban Giants fans though, Giants fans can do whatever they want over there, they attack us, troll us and bitch at us and when we respond we’re hit with the ban hammer. We may not all agree on everything, but this is a funny post. Good job, EB. And I am glad you thought highly enough of what I wrote that it required a separate fanpost.
Not to re-hash the actual argument, but my point was that we should not celebrate or trash talk our friends, just have some courtesy to not go on a Giants blog, no matter how lame it may be, and taunt them. That’s all. Sorry if it came stronger than intended.

Trash talk is part of sports, and you can be damn sure we’d have Giants fans over here if the results had been different (in fact I believe we had some preemptive celebrators from BBV on the game thread). EB you and I hardly agree but I do back you here.
I don’t frequent other teams sites mainly because I only come here to talk Eagles and that’s it. While I don’t necessarily welcome trolls I will step up to the challenge and defend my home turf whenever it comes to it.
They are a part of this scene we know they will come in waves before a division game and twice as bad following a division loss. I’ll be here waiting.
BGN is one of the few sites I have visited here (SBN) that actually allows and in part encourages fanatic debate. If you get banned from BGN you really fucked up. I’ve seen guys get banned from other SBN sites simply for cursing or having a dissenting opinion and not backing down. That’s just wrong it goes against what SBN (in my mind) is here for. And while I don’t venture around picking arguments I will forever fight for the right of others to do so.

Is it really a joke? I think it’s more of descriptive tool used to draw a parallel between the fascist attitude of the BBV moderators and a heinous well known fascist regime.
I don’t read it as a joke at all. While we’re on this subject, the ONE possible good that can come out of the holocaust at this point is our ability to draw comparisons to the things leading up to it and what is going on today, and help to improve ourselves based on this knowledge.

How is that surprising to you? If you’re part of a group, support its leaders, and support the actions of those leaders, do you really believe that you don’t deserve the backlash? I was even more annoyed when I read that BBV is considering only letting “certain people” join. What, banning NFC East rivals’ fans? Yeah, that sounds like the type of blog people would want to join, I’m sure it would consist of intelligent, balanced debate.
Here’s the thing: when rival fans come over here it can be annoying, because we get trolls. But we put up with the crappy visitors because the good ones, such as yourself on most occasions, contribute to our blog and make our conversations more intelligent and balanced, rather than simply cheering our own accolades. A bunch of the people banned from BBV are stand-up members here, and it sounds like your moderators were being babies and couldn’t deal with a little ribbing — and BBV fans that argued back didn’t get banned so don’t feed me that “football talk only” bullshit. The truth is, most of BBV is intolerant of others’ opinions, and rather than keep up a healthy debate or allow people to settle their differences like adults, they swing the ban hammer on rival fans at the first sign of trouble.

I reinstated two, and of the remaining 15, only four unique users among them (ie creating new accounts just to troll more). Not the regulars that deserve any respect.
As for other bannings, I can not speak on those, as I only know about the ones I dealt with.
Thanks for clearing that up. It sounds to me like the majority of them weren’t even BGN regulars if that’s the case. And I guess that means only six people were banned; at least that you know of.
